My son uses these in his ball caps for his chiari protection. They are breathable and comfy. They can't be seen even in youth size hats.

I bought this for a friend who works in construction, and it has been a total game-changer for him. First i will say that I like this little shell, it makes normally "floppy" hats stand up and stay round. I have not worn it out on a hot day as it is starting autumn now, however indoors i don't really feel it is as warm as having the hat on alone, which is weird. This could be because the cap is now held up off my head and there is an air space providing comfort. The fitment was not quite as easy as shown in the vendor video. I did struggle with it at first as I wanted to try it out right away, however there are no instructions with it and it is not readily apparent which direction it goes without the video. That sorted out, I put it in a generic cap I got on vacation years ago, and it fit fine. I then grabbed one of my Rothco caps and proceeded to try fitting it, and ended up tearing out a few stitches in the back, on the liner where the velcro tab meets the hat. The Rothco hat is a super tight fit for the bump cap. It works, but barely. This might be due to tolerances on the hat itself, as I then tried it on a couple other generic adjustable hats and they were fine. One thing that was disappointing is I have a few Condor caps that are not adjustable, size L/XL. The bump cap fit inside, but the bump cap was too large and the liner would not fold back over completely, which is surprising as those hats are too large for me and are always loose and sliding around. I don't think this would fit in the S/M size Condor hats. The weight is light enough that I don't notice it, almost at all. It does feel that this will sustain some lighter impacts, lighter than an OSHA approved hard hat. If a punch or a baseball bat are headed your way this ain't for that, brother.
