Eleonora- The life of a Theatre Great!
Interesting and revealing look at the actress Eleonora Duse who was a "rock star," of the theatre between 1872 and 1924. I was captivated by the depth of her love for acting. Her goal? To be real, not to be a star. She transformed theatre! Here is her story as told by one who experienced her as a young actress and was informed by the total dedication Eleonora gave to the art. Fascinating, though written in an unusual back and forth flashback style.

Duse As Best Actor Ever
Lee Strasberg of The Actor's Studio said that it would be another100 years before the theatre world would see another actor likeEleonora Duse. She could sit on the stage, say nothing yet commandthe house. The book is very well written by an artist who knew Duse, and renders her into a mystic who had full control of all her faculties, and would morph into or become her characters, forgetting self, like HeddaGabler. Great book for theatre buffs and working actors. I have a theatregroup in NYC and use it for my lead actors. Seller here was very good.Where we get the saying,"It was a doozey!"

Fantastic read for any actor
I was really mesmerized by this woman's story and wish I could've seen her act. I was shocked at how much I identified to a lot of this story and I felt very connected to something while reading this.
