Took 5 minuted to install and solved the on/off cycling problem. Only tool needed was a phillips screwdriver.

Direct replacement for a unit that was 32 years old. The window on the original unit had fogged to the point the photo cell could not tell day from night. Two screws, plug compatible, and the pole lamp is once again functioning like new.

Shut the power off and confirmed its condition. Removed the lamp from the post and cleared the power cable. I drilled a 1 3/8 hole in the 3 inch post near the top facing West. The Photo Cell installed easily in the post with the supplied hardware. The instructions for wiring were clear cut with black, red and white wires. Reinstalled the lamp at the top of the post and it did not seem to work correctly no matter what I tried. Rechecked wiring as suggested in the instructions, all ok. Night fell and the lamp worked automatically as promised. I don't know if there is a time delay or adjustment to ambient light. After using this product I would recommend this item.

This replaced a 18 year old photocell that went bad. Was exactly the same as the original. Easy peasy swap.
