Useful for future PhDs, I recommend
It helps in several issues, some are better handled than others. In same aspects, it is better to go to a counselor for resume or cover letter design and content, specially for interview questions, counselors are better. However, it is useful. Should be read.

A must read for graduate students, postdocs, faculty, or those considering graduate school
As a former graduate student and now postdoc, I found this book to be an extremely helpful guide to understanding and making the most of a doctoral career path. Timely, well-written, and data-heavy, I would highly recommend Next Gen PhD to anyone thinking deeply about Ph.D. careers (those contemplating graduate school, current graduate students, postdocs, faculty, administrators, and policy makers). The author has spent years of focused research on doctoral careers and counseled hundreds of graduate students and postdocs. This experience comes through in the book as a balanced, realistic, and ultimately forward looking guide to fulfillment in a complex and often misunderstood career environment. A must read.
