I was a little dissapointed when I traded in my 2016 Ram 2500 for a 2021 Ram 2500 and found out that the only way to have Carplay was to plug in my phone. One of the people at the dealership eluded to the fact that there may be a wireless solution and I went on here and found this little unit. I have been using it for a month now and it works flawlessly. A reasonably priced solution.

It does exactly what they said it would do. Plug it in to your data port, connect your phone. That's pretty much it.

I love the tiny size of this CarPlay adapter. It is about the same size as the port for a cigarette lighter adapter. It does not block my other ports, or take up too much valuable console space. I am using it on my 2017 Honda Pilot and my iphone 14 Pro. Yes, this adapter is for the 2017 CRV, but they use the same electronics for the display. Before using this adapter, I made sure my CarPlay works when wired to my phone using the CarPlay port of my car, and it does. It also re-connects easily, even if I unplug the adapter and reinsert it later. This adapter was really easy to pair to my phone. The display is clear and gives me about 90% functionality. For some reason, any music service like Apple music or Pandora will not play when I use the adapter, but i don’t think it is related to the adapter, because I have this issue with other brands of adapters.

Worked ok it did connect for my google maps but you cant answer phone calls. All my music worked fine. But you can not use for over 30 min as the item got so hot it started to smell that's when i unhooked it. Would not recommend.

I have tried various wireless CarPlay adapters before and have run into issues. My last one had two issues that this one fixed. First, this one is brand specific and identified HondaLink immediately and integrated it into my CarPlay which is something that my previous adapter did not do. At first I was skeptical that this company was selling different adapters for different automobile manufacturers, but it's obvious to me now that there is a reason to do so. So, make sure you are getting the adapter that matches your manufacturer. The second thing that this adapter did nicely was handle two phones. My previous adapter required me to re-link every time i switched phones. But, this adapter easily connected to each phone whenever we switched who was using the car. When it does go to the second user, it will take about 30 seconds before it automatically switches over, but there is nothing you have to do on your own. If both people are in the car, it keeps using the previous user's connection. As for the performance, it was virtually flawless. It worked perfectly with my car and my phone, so there were no issues there. Where I did have an issue, was in having both this device and the car's Bluetooth connected to my phone, simultaneously. This was not an issue when I was using the wired connection, but with this connection, the car was struggling with how to handle audio, sometimes. Ultimately, removing my phone's Bluetooth connection to the car and solely using the connection to this wireless adapter fixed the issue. So, if you wanted to make the upgrade to wireless CarPlay, no need to buy a new car, this is definitely the more affordable option.

Long live wireless! I really don't like having cables hanging around the car, so being able to use Android Auto /CarPlay wirelessly is a game changer. As others have said, this adapter is tiny! It is super easy to install (plug in, connect via Bluetooth, done!) and use. The LED lights on it are pretty subtle, and hardly noticeable if you're plugging it into a recessed USB port. The boxiness means it may obscure your other USB ports, depending on the layout of your car, but we tend to charge phones from a different USB port anyway, so this has not been an issue. This adapter comes with an additional adapter to make it compatible with a USB-C port, but it seems like it'd add a considerable amount of bulk. I could be wrong though. I'm not sure what difference buying a specific model makes, as I am definitely using it on a 2021 Ford ranger with zero problems. It can only connect to a max of 2 different devices, but that works fine for my boyfriend and I. I was concerned that there might be some wonkiness when we start our cars in the morning to leave for work, since both phones are connected to the wireless adapters in both cars, but I haven't experienced any crossed connections yet. All in all, this has been a fantastic little adapter so far. Recommended!
