Flaghlight after bedtime
If a book has my 13-year-old reading by flashlight after bedtime—this is a kid who once thought reading was a punishment—then The Silver Mask must be doing something magical. By this point in the Magisterium series, the stakes are sky-high, the twists are jaw-dropping, and the story is so intense my son couldn’t put it down (even under threat of confiscating said flashlight). This fourth installment takes a darker turn, with themes of sacrifice, identity, and what it really means to be a hero—or a villain. It’s perfect for a 13-year-old trying to figure out their own values while still being swept up in the non-stop action, emotional gut punches, and sharp humor that define the series. If your kid has made it this far in the series, The Silver Mask is the book that will officially make them a lifelong reader. Just be warned: they may need a reminder that bedtime is not optional—even in the Magisterium.

10/10, would read again.
Way to end this one, Holly black. Way. To. End it. I have to say I've really enjoyed these books. And ever since I picked the first one up at the local book fair, I knew this was going to be a good one. And that expectation, it never was failed to be met. This series of books amazes me with its compelling story that clings to your leg and won't let go. Especially with this last one, where i was blown away by the book alone. We just have one question to ask ourselves, how much longer will it go on? Will we be left to speculate what will happen for a bit and have our hungry stomachs fed after so long? When a story makes you want to theorize, that's when you know you hit gold. And I have to conclude it with a strong, bold statement. This book is just amazing and so are all the others.

This was a really short read...
This is the fourth book in the Magisterium series; five books are planned for this series. This was a short but good continuation of the Magisterium series. I felt like this was more of a novella than a full length novel. It's just over 200 pages and I read it in one 2hr sitting.Call has been imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. His friends come to his rescue but when another Chaos mage gets involved Call ends up in even more trouble than he started in.Fans of the series should be pleased. The ending was the best part; something huge happens and sets things up nicely for the final book in the series.Overall this was a good, but not great, addition to the Magisterium series.

Greatest Book Ever!
I loved this book so much! It was full of mysterious twists and turns along gthe road of Constaine Madden. I highly recommend the rest of the series. Go back and read the first three if you have not already.1:The Iron Trial2:The Copper Gauntlet3:The Bronze KeyMy son absolutely loved it and I recommend it to kids from ages 8-15

A good addition to the series
First of all, the book arrived in good condition. There were a few very tiny scratches on the back cover but I suspect that was because it was shipped in a box with other items I had ordered. As for the book itself, this is my third time rereading the series and it never gets boring. While short and somewhat of a 'filler' book of the series, The Silver Mask remains my second favorite of the series after The Bronze Key. 5 stars, would recommend for anyone at a middle school or above reading level.

These two aspects alone do not make this series perfect in any way and does not hide its flaws ...
The fourth book in the Magisterium series is probably the darkest yet. It opens several months after The Bronze Key cliffhanger and takes off from there. I do have to praise this series for two things, its characters and its fast paced plots. These two aspects alone do not make this series perfect in any way and does not hide its flaws because their are some. However for being a middle grade series it is quite entertaining. I have so much fun reading this series and I cannot wait to see how everything wraps up in the conclusion to be released next year!!

An excellent adventure.
This book is the series grand finale and the adventure gets intense. Many players from the past come together to make this a very exciting book. is Callum really the enemy of death and will Master Joseph and others convince him to accept this idea and embrace this destiny? What of the Magisterium and Call's friends? I started reading this one morning at the laundromat and hated to stop long enough to fold clothes and drive home. This book was entertaining and captivating enough that I completed it the same day. Great writing and a wonderful adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed this series
These books are addicting. I really enjoyed this series, and this book was like the icing on the cake. I was afraid it was going to be pure agony to wait for who knows how long for the next book to come out, but this book ended with enough closure, that I'll be all right. I do look forward to the next book, though.
