Genuinely impressed with this thermal camera. We needed one to find an underfloor heating leak and to find the pipe runs to allow us to run a new gas pipe in the floor. This camera worked perfectly, it easily allowed us to map out the pipe locations and find the leak in one of the zones. Even more impressive is that it cost less than the cost of hiringing one for the week and was delivered next day. We will definitely be using this thermal camera for lots of other jobs, I feel like it's a very handy tool once you own one. The battery and internal memory seems to be fairly capable, I wasn't expecting to be able to take videos and photos on the device which was a handy feature, along with the laser and built in torch.

Absolutely spot on, it was good value and easy to use. Purchased to monitor hot spots In a snake viv and went down a rabbit hole checking every square inch of the house and dogs.

I’ve been using the FOXWELL RT280 Thermal Imaging Camera for inspections and troubleshooting, and overall I’m really pleased with its performance. The 320 x 240 display paired with the 240 x 180 thermal resolution provides clear, easy to read thermal images, and the 2.8” LCD screen is nice and bright and responsive. The 25Hz refresh rate makes scanning smooth with minimal lag, which is a big plus when moving around quickly. The built-in laser is helpful for pinpointing exact areas, and I really like that it supports both photo and video recording with the included 32GB storage. Connecting it to a PC for further analysis is straightforward and adds a lot of value if you want to document or share findings. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the menu system takes a bit of getting used to, and the thermal resolution, while good for most tasks, may not be enough for users who need very fine detail for professional level diagnostics. That said, for homeowners, DIYers, and even light professional use, this is a well built, reliable thermal camera that delivers strong performance, I’d definitely recommend it.

I love this thermal camera -- it is mindlessly easy to use, right out of the box. It has lots of very useful features that work really well -- some of them do require reading the manual, so don't toss it away too quickly. But if you're just looking for hot spots and the like, you can literally just turn the camera on and point it. Build quality seems to be very good; the camera feels sturdy, and nothing that I've seen says "rushed to market" or "could have been thought through a little better." I'd easily buy this again if I needed another one.

Super impressive! I have used thousand dollar cameras before and this one works just as good. Half the time the better cameras you’re paying for features you don’t use and bloop too capability, etc. For home inspections, things around your own home this is more than adequate! Battery life is great too.

Ich halte mich bei meinen Rezensionen bewusst relativ kurz, versuche aber ausführlich genug zu sein um meinen Eindruck zu vermitteln und euch die Entscheidung leichter zu machen, dass Produkt zu kaufen oder es lieber zu lassen. Meine Eindrücke vom Produkt: Als jemand, der täglich auf der Baustelle steht und Sachen checken muss, hab ich mir die FOXWELL RT280 geholt – und ich bin echt begeistert! Die Bildqualität ist für den Preis absolut in Ordnung: Man hat einen klaren 240 × 180 Thermicsensor und ein gutes Display, auf dem man schnell sieht, wo’s heiß oder kalt ist. Gerade bei Lecks, schlecht isolierten Stellen oder wenn’s bei Heizungen nicht rund läuft – das Teil bringt einem sofort einen Heat-Map-Check, ohne großes Gefummel. Die Bedienung ist angenehm simpel. Keine 1000 Knöpfe oder Menüs mit Unter-, unter-, Untermenus, einfach einschalten, ausrichten und man siehst, was Sache ist. Für den Alltag absolut genug – vom Dach bis zur Wand ist alles schnell überprüft. Akku hält bei mir locker mehrere kleinere Checks am Stück durch, das war mir wichtig. Was ich auch top finde: Man hat Foto- und Videoaufnahme direkt mit drauf und 32 GB Speicher – super zum Dokumentieren von Mängeln oder für spätere Nachweise. Das Teil fühlt sich robust und wie sich wie ein richtiges Werkzeug an – nicht wie "Spielzeug". Klar, die Anleitung könnte besser sein (das haben andere Rezensenten auch bemängelt), aber im echten Alltag kommt man schnell hinter die Basics, ohne stundenlang rumzulesen. This is a great mid-price option. Image is good, temperatures are accurate. Have found this tool to be a great purchase for the price. Battery life is decent. If you are familiar with thermal camera use and function, this unit has a very user friendly interface. Has all functionality of a more expensive option. Being a less expensive option, it does have a little less screen resolution, and does not have a macro function, but you get what you pay for.

Als Sozialpädagoge und Brettspiel-Erfinder (50) mit zwei technikbegeisterten Söhnen (Joel, 19 & Jonas, 13) war klar: Das Ding muss den chaotischen Alltag aushalten und für uns Laien verständlich sein. Hat es das geschafft? VORTEILE (✅️) - Sofort einsatzbereit und intuitiv: Innerhalb von 5 Minuten hatten selbst unsere Söhne (13 & 19) raus, wie man Bilder macht, den Laserpointer oder die LED-Taschenlampe einschaltet. Kein Studium der Anleitung nötig. 👍 - Robuster, griffiger Eindruck: Das Gehäuse übersteht problemlos den Transport im Werkzeugrucksack zwischen Akkuschrauber und Hammer. Fühlt sich wertig an und liegt gut in der Hand. - Praktische Alltagshelfer: Die Kombination aus Laser (zum präzisen Zielen) und LED-Licht (für dunkle Ecken am Dachboden) ist genial. Der Temperaturalarm piept zuverlässig, wenn irgendwo ein kritischer Hotspot lauert. - Gute Basis-Funktionalität: Für unsere Hauptaufgabe – suchen nach Kältebrücken an Fenstern, undichten Stellen an der Dachdämmung und prüfen, ob die Fußbodenheizung gleichmäßig warm wird – reicht die Bildqualität völlig aus. Die Temperaturunterschiede sind klar erkennbar. - Langlebiger Akku & Riesenspeicher: Einmal vollgeladen hält ewig. Der 32 GB-Speicher ist für tausende Bilder absolut überdimensioniert – aber das ist ein Luxusproblem. NACHTEILE (👎) - Die Auflösungs-Frage: Man muss sich im Klaren sein, dass die beworbene "240x180"-Auflösung durch Software-Tricks (TISR) erreicht wird. Der echte Sensor hat 120x90 Pixel. Für profunde, detailreiche Analysen von kleinen Elektronikbauteilen ist das zu wenig. Für unsere Haus-Scans okay, aber Grenzen gibt es. - Ruckler beim Schwenken: Bei schnellen Bewegungen bleibt das Bild manchmal kurz hängen oder ruckelt leicht (die 25 Hz sind eben nicht 60 Hz). Für statische Aufnahmen kein Problem, beim dynamischen Scannen etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. - Software / Transfer: Die mitgelieferte PC-Software ist grundfunktional, aber kein Meisterwerk der Benutzerfreundlichkeit. Die Übertragung der Bilder funktionierte bei uns via USB-Kabel zu Windows 11 problemlos, eine drahtlose Übertragung aufs Smartphone gibt es nicht. FAZIT Für ambitionierte Heimwerker, Hausbesitzer und neugierige Familien wie unsere ist die Foxwell RT280 ein tolles Werkzeug zum fairen Preis. Sie macht verborgene Probleme sichtbar und ist robust genug für den harten Familienalltag. Wer damit professionell elektrische Anlagen analysieren oder minimale Temperaturgradienten messen muss, sollte zu hochpreisigeren Profi-Modellen greifen.
