Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Official Guide

Although I love used books there is something awesome about getting a new book sealed in wrapping... no bent pages, no bends in the binding..😊 .....And the contents are really cool says my kiddo 🙂

The cover is beautiful. The pages are pretty high quality in my opinion. It only contains information pertaining to every character in the game thus far (no small feat), as other reviewers have mentioned. Still, this is great for a Smash collector or someone who has been buying guidebooks for every small installment. The paperback is compact, easy to place on a bookshelf. The upper right hand corner was a little bent, trying to smooth it out now. Still, happy with my purchase. Sad to see guidebooks go by the wayside, but I'm glad we got one more Prima for this latest entry of Smash.

All it lists, is every character and what they do, but it doesn't say anything about world of light, nothing about the bosses, character unlock paths through classic mode, absolutely nothing. Honestly the smash bros melee/brawl/wii u manuals had more info.Raising it to 4 stars to be fair. As a quick character reference guide it works when you quickly need to look up how a move works and its uses. But a reference guide is all it is, it has no other info of the game, modes or unlockables.

It doesn't cover Adventure mode, Spirits, or anything other than character movesets and some gameplay mechanics, but its depth and illustrations make for a cool manual. Every fighter gets a brief overview, then each move gets anywhere from 1 complete sentence to a few paragraphs. Reading all of the summaries was a fun time-sink, though I felt that the authors' least favorite characters were apparent in the overviews with less written. I must note that the ink of the illustrations sticks to other pages on ocassion, leaving white spots.

The book came quickly and was in better condition that I expected. My son will love it!

This is a fun game. My daughter and I play it often. We can play up to 7 players (with extra controllers, you can actually play 8 at a time.)

All the information one needs to know, but the font is so tiny that one may need a magnifying glass to obtain said information.

Love this product! Definitely a need for anyone who’s trying to learn new players or even learn more about the ones they love playing with. Great quality book all color and cool graphics.

Pretty average “guide”. It basically outlines moves for the characters in the game. No spirit board guide whatsoever. It’s also pretty averagely laid out and the quality of the paper inside the book is pretty weak.

I cannot believe that a strategy guide could be so lacking. All this book contains is a set of moves and strategies for each individual fighter in the game. No overview or tips for each game mode. No details about the game stages or how to tackle the new spirits single player mode. Nothing. I dusted off my old Smash Bros guide for the Wii U version and all these areas are well covered - so why they decided not to bother is anyone's guess (But I expect it involved cutting costs as much as possible to maximize profits).Speaking of cost cutting measures, you'll also find that this book is tiny compared to the usual A4 size strategy guide, with everything shrunk down (including the text, so expect to do a bit of squinting).I've often had a dislike for Prima guides as they can lack crucial details but this really takes the biscuit. How Prima are still going while the excellent Brady Games guidebook company went out of business is a complete mystery. Do yourself a favour refer to a free online guide for this one.
