Mr Kipling Pies - Bramley Apple and Blackcurrant - 6 Pack

My family and I love these so much that our box of six didn't last a day. In fact I'm just back online to order more. Our arrived in perfect shape without any damage. They're small, maybe 2.5 inches diameter, which made them perfectly snack sized. The top is nicely mounded with plenty of filling, unlike American snack pies. The taste of the filling was fantastic. First bite made me think of cherries, there's definitely a strong berry influence from the black currents. Not too sweet at all. For us it was definitely just the right balance of sweet and tart.

Arrived on time. Appeared fresh and very tasty. Some superficial damage to the top pastry even though the product appeared to be properly packaged.

What a shame that Mr Kiplings products have usually been exceptional EXCEPT those such as this that are inadequately packed- while the pies are housed in mini foil tins, they are not enclosed in any protective material but are simply housed 'naked' directly into a cardboard box- this causes them to be stale (moisture through cardboard) and in all cases broken or completely crushed- this is not the seller's or shipper's issue but that of the UK's Premier Foods manufacturer

Yes they arrived a little crumbled but I kind of expected that since they've traveled from England to America. Tasted fantastic and gave me a fix of one of the many things I miss!

Taste just as I remember from when I was in England. Very good. Unfortunately they take a long time to get here since they come from England.

I subtracted stars because these arrived as mush. Not one pie was intact because these were sent (across the Atlantic, I believe) in a flimsy cardboard box with no wrapping or insulation at all. They are delicious in flavor but the texture is now awful. This company needs to invest in bubble wrap, especially for the price they charge.

Product mailed from UK. Little tarts all smashed due to zero protective packaging. Also I noticed on the manufacturer's box they were right at their expiration date. These would have been good if bought in a store, and I should have known better!

I found these in a "UK store" in our area and was greatly disappointed; they were well past their "sell by" date; the crust was stale and the filling had dried out. Then I tried these from Amazon. Yes, they are expensive, but they were a HUGE improvement on the other ones. Pretty much what I had recalled from the UK. These were shipped from the UK by air, so they were a bit expensive. Mine were not crushed, but they could have been. Mine arrived on a Thursday, and the "sell by" date was the following Monday (but they stayed good beyond that -- not very far behind, since they are enjoyed in our house!). Bottom line: if you're hankering for these, and you can't jet over to the UK, this is the best way I've found to satisfy the craving.

Emballage insuffisant, les gâteaux sont tous effrités, certains même cassés.

Highly recommended.. shared within a small 3 person group .. each recommending balance of pastry to filling .. heated as a treat .. served with cream .. especially whipping for that full taste. Very good quality .
