Still the same high quality these stools were when I was young, yet with lighter material. Parents had a kick-stool shaped the same back in the 1980s and this one works even better. Wheels have an easy roll. Light weight for picking up to carry. Well constructed. Assembly required when arrives in smaller box. Instructions easy to follow. Perfect height for sitting (about 2" lower than a metal folding chair).Safe for kids: my grandchild of 17 months used it like a walker to toddle around the house with ease.There is a 'bumper' edge at the very bottom and a black rubberish 'strip' that lines up with the toe holes under kitchen counters to keep it from being scratched up or damaging the kitchen wooden under counter cabinets. Grooves on top are not deep, thus keep shoes from slipping but also makes it easy to wipe of dirt or spills.After four months of daily use, I am VERY pleased with this rolling step stool.FYI: the rolling gap height when no weight is pressing the unit down is just under 1/2", thus, not good for shag carpet. Rolls fine, but not as far or as quickly, on a thin plush or low pile carpet.

Stool is lightweight yet absolutely sturdy. Arrived in a surprisingly durable cardboard box, and was very easy to assemble. I chose the orange, and it is bright and visible without being safety-neon. Casters work perfectly. It glides across the floor with the tap of a foot, and when you step on it, it becomes perfectly planted. The consumer products market is cluttered with cheap garbage, but this company is building the real deal.

I am 5' 4" so I am frequently frustrated when trying to reach items from top shelves in my kitchen cabinets. I do have a good step ladder that gets me up there but it is a pain to push/lift around the room so I only use it for big cleaning & re-organizing projects.Then I saw this "kick stool" on a website. WOW! Exactly what I needed.The spring-mounted/wheeled bottom allows it to be "kicked" into place, gliding across easily. When it is in the target spot, you step on it. That's it. The spring-mount is disabled by weight and makes it super stable. Best of all, you just step off and it goes back to gliding.This model is very nicely made (the beige/black combo is exactly the same as other items in my kitchen). Now I'm thinking of getting more of them for my bathrooms.

In the world of great useful inventions, the cramer kik step ranks high. I've just purchased my second one. I bought the first one probably about 6 years ago and use it almost daily. It hasn't worn out, rusted, dented or become any less useful than it was the day I bought it. I decided that I needed one to keep downstairs as well. True, I could cart it up and down as needed but I need it in both places so frequently that it just seemed time to purchase another. And I got a great price on a "used" amazon warehouse deal. There is nothing at all used about the item I received. It is a clean and dent free beautiful silver stool that will fit in perfectly in my home based photo studio.Aside from being effortless to use and incredibly sturdy, this stool is also pretty darn good looking. I bought the copper color originally and it fits in really nicely in my copper, brown and rust kitchen. There is nothing ugly about this stool. Granted it wont fit in well with some decors, but not because it is unattractive. The folks at cramer saw a need to go beyond the library drab stool and infuse this with some great colors for home use.One last important point.... I am a shrinking 5' 7" (probably down to 5' 6" or less by now) and I can easily reach my 8' ceiling when standing on this stool. And I never feel even slightly unsteadly on it. Just roll it to wherever you need it and then when you step on it the thing anchors itself until you step off. I understand that if you weigh less than 30 pounds it wont anchor successfully but I am guessing that if you weigh less than 30 pounds you aren't doing the sort of home maintenance this thing was designed for.BOTTOM LINE: Best in class step stool. Incredibly well thought out and rock solid. Highly recommend

It’s great. Rolls smoothly. Go slow and it locks in place as soon as you step on it. It stays securely in place until you step off. I find it best to be holding edge of cabinet as I move. Slowly. I’m 75. It great for what we needed. Easy to vacumn off step grooves, size is great but makes everything so much more accessible for me as I’m only 4’91/2”.

This step stool feels like a modern version of the one my grandma always kept in her kitchen, familiar, practical, and built to be used every day, just with a much more contemporary look. It’s exactly the right height to reach the back of upper cabinets without feeling wobbly or overbuilt.One of my favorite details is how easy it is to position. I purchased this for use in our laundry room for easy access to tall cabinets. I wanted one of these step stools because I remember them from the library and they always seemed very sturdy and easy to use. I love that this comes in various colors. The red is lovely and looks very much like the picture online. In terms of the feel, I was not completely sure about it when it arrived. It felt slightly less solid than the ones I remember from the library days (or even from the barnes and noble). I'm only barely 5'2" petite, and reaching out anything in my cupboard is always difficult. I have a two step folding ladder in my kitchen and oftentimes my finger got caught folding and closing it. I'm tired of it. I searched everywhere for the best step stool that I can use mainly for my kitchen and I found kik step. I am a bit hesitant to buy it because it is quite expensive, but after several months it went on sale and so I decided to go ahead and bought it. I'm so glad I did :). It makes life a little bit easier for me. This is easy to assemble. It comes into two parts. Each leg has 2 metal pegs which is protected with a rubber tubing. Take the rubber tubing out by pulling it out. Position the two metal pegs inside the hole of the 2nd part of your kik step and press to secure the leg. Do all the legs this way. There should be no gap. Once your done, you can now enjoy using your kik step. For my height which is barely 5'2" I still stand on my tippy toes to reached the highest shelf of my cupboard but that's okay. I love the ease of using it. It rolls very easily. It is well secure everytime you step on it. One downside for me is that IT IS MADE IN CHINA. I do not like products that is made specially in china because of it's poor quality and workmanship. This is made of sturdy plastic. I do not know how long this will last me before it break. It seems very sturdy to me and I'm sure the company who makes this really went through a strict quality inspection before they put it out there for people to buy it. I'm very happy on this purchase and I'm sure you will do too.

I love the lock system. It always feels sturdy and safe. I love that it rolls easily and has bumpers to protect anything it bumps into. Great for my kitchen. Takes up less space than my folding step stool and I don’t have to be constantly folding and unfolding. Love it.

It’s light and rolls easily to where you need it. Yet It’s incredibly strong and safe.

This step stool is amazing. I needed a new one after 40 years with my old one. This is exactly the same and looks great. I am delighted.
