Very impressive case and battery unit.
Its easy to fit and use.It does look big and is reasonably heavy. But no more than in independent battery based charging unit.It does offer a level of protection, but I'd say it lacks on protecting the screen as it does not protrude as far as other cases I have purchased. So an add on screen protector is a must have.It does what it says, so no complaints from me.Strang little flip out leg at the back of the case stand that seems to work well.An added nice feature is a desceet full size USB charger socket on the back of the case. This can charge or power a second device or phone.If you are going on a long road trip this is an ideal solution without the need for wires to battery packs.

Had this item for a month now, would say to be 100% sure that you want to go for a battery case rather than an external battery.In my case, the battery case was the only option as I'm always traveling long distances and have to work on my phone 10-12h a day. In terms of handling, it's pretty awkward obviously, but you get used to it. In terms of charging, you'll only get about a full charge (thought would be around 2 full charges). Be careful to check it before you leave, as it loses charge completely over 2 days. Also it overheats your Note 8 so you might want to give it a few minutes before you call your mom.7/10

1 major flaw. Bulky. Not recommended.
One major flaw - it cannot charge your phone and the battery pack at the same time.If your phone battery and the battery pack are both dead. You have to remove the battery and charge your phone separately. This is a really bad design flaw.The kickstand is laughably thin it would snap on the weight of the battery pack, which is substantial.The silicone material makes it fairly easy to remove the case, but offers almost zero protection from falling. And if this brick fall, your phone will suffer more damage due to the tripling in weight.I reverted back to UAG case and Samsung LED case. Just lighter, allows for wireless charging.It's just so bulky I cannot see a real use for it unless you ago somewhere without a charger. But even then, a separate power bank and cable (some have built in cables) is better. This is not really pocket friendly.
