Quality addition!
First, the packaging is very good. it uses a 'box-within-a-box' method, minimizing damage. One of the mounting tangs was bent slightly and I had to adjust it with a hammer and the blister pack for the nuts/bolts had busted, but interior box kept anything from getting lost. The pieces feel solid, the welds are good, and the pads are a grade above what I was expecting. The assembly was straightforward and the instruction booklet is well done. It would have been nice had XMark indicated which pulley cable was the high cable and which was the low cable. I ended up watching the video online and it was clarified, but it would have saved some time to note that in the booklet. To be fair it was probably on the packaging, but i had unpacked everything at that point. The seat moves back and forth slightly, even with the bolts tightened. This may be intentional, but I didn't see that described as a feature. It's not noticable in operation. The accessories are also nicer than I expected. I had planned to purchase a separate long pulldown bar, but the XMark bar is pretty solid and will work fine. The straight bar is also a good bar. Finally, the actual operation of the machine is very good. It's super quiet and the cable action is smooth. I'm 6'0" (180 cm) and I can get a complete range of motion from the pulldown bar by minimizing the extra chain. They give you a small container of grease for the slide rods, which is a nice touch. I was initially looking at a slightly cheaper brand (T.F.) but the last piece I bought from them required a couple hours of work to get it operational and the price difference wasn't worth it. If you are considering this other option, I can say that every aspect of the XMark machine is better than the T.F. seated calf raise I purchased and well worth the additional cost.

This machine is perfect and reasonably priced
I was dreaming about a cable machine in my home gym for many years but did not want something that was going to take half the room and cost more than my mortgage. This machine is perfect and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a well made, sturdy and versatile cable machine for lat, triceps and back workouts you cannot go wrong with this product. It comes complete with olympic plates adapter so if you use olympic plates, you will be able to use them on this machine. The cable system and mechanics are smooth and work well. Setup takes time but not as long as I had expected and I was able to assemble the whole thing by myself. Total assembly time as approximately 3 and a half hours and requires a crescent wrench and alan wrench set as the ones included are not really suitable. The directions are reasonably clear and if followed are a good guide to putting the machine together. This machine has made a good addition to my home gym and I am very satisfied with it. If you plan on using heavy weight on your lat machine, this machine may not be the right choice but I've had 150 pounds on it with no issues.

"Great Machine For Home Gym"
So I purchased this machine a year ago to get the feel and over all experience with this machine to post a review. So here it is. The machine is a great price of equipment to have in your home gym. It works everything from back, to biceps, triceps, shoulders, even traps. The machine is very versatile and is is the most used equipment in my personal gym, along with other xmark product. It's very smooth to operate and seems rugged to use. The max weight says it can handle four hundred pounds and I believe that's accurate, even though I don't lift that heavy. It's still a heavy duty gym accessory. A big plus I have to handed it to is that it comes with two high qaulity bars. One large rotating lat bar and the other a short rotating bar. Mostly use it for cable bicep curls, and everything tricep. So that's a big plus in my book. The only big complain that I have that everyone seems to have post is the instructions. Though they are not complicated by any means. When you assemble this machine, make sure you wire the cables through it when putting it together to save you time and stress. Trust me, they didn't explain that method in the instructions and viewing the reviews before purchasing really helped so I'm doing my civic duty to past on the knowledge to potential buyers. So in closing. Would I purchase this machine again? Absolutely. The price here seems well for what you get. Notice that this isn't commercial qaulity. Though like I said "it's rugged and heavy duty". I'm the only one who uses it. So if you are planning to open a big gym better on paying more. But for personal use, I wouldn't look much further.

X mark Commercial
This machine can exactly at the time promised, it was also double packed so the inner boxes were in perfect condition, hats of to ABF freight for being much more professional that other normal delivery services. All items undamaged and accounted for. The machine performs well for a big guy like me I too am 5'11" and the height is right within the limits allowing full range of motion. The weight will seem a bit heavier than a lot of other cable machines which is fine by me, although 50 pounds on this machine feels heavy the machine is very smooth! I asked the question about the total plate load capacity of this machine and was told on here it is 400lbs, if this is so I will not over work the load limit on it and I will be challenged for all exercises it offers. I tested function for lat pulldowns and rows with every handle possible and it works well with them all. It also work well for triceps extension, cable curls, upright rows. with a variety of handles. The only exercise it is not capable of doing is triceps overhead, so for a layperson, that is when you face away from the machine and pull the handle or a rope style handle from behind the head in a standing position. It does not work for this because the top cable cannot feed from the front. Assembly was easy if you follow the guides examine the diagram and proceed deliberately, a 5/8 ratchet and a quality 6mm allen wrench will get everything done except using a rubber mallet to press the end caps into position and a 4mm allen wrench to put the Olympic sleeves on. Other Big Pro is the better quality bearings in the pulleys and all the pulleys are in line so no lateral torque on any of them.

Overall a good piece of equipment....
This product shipped in 3 different boxes (I got the upgraded accessories). The equipment was pretty well packaged, but it did sustain damage in transit...the large upright piece was slightly bent and would not slide into place without a little straightening...it was either that or call for a replacement piece, which I think was not necessary but some folks might make a different call. Fortunately, they provided a small bottle of touch-up paint so I was able to cover that up and the few scratches that I likely put in it putting it together. My wife and I put this together in little over 1.5 hours, which isn't a lot of time in my book. This is a pretty sturdy piece of equipment and I think it'll last a long time. Everything works well and is very smooth. My only two complaints are that the range of motion on the pull-down is a bit short in my opinion and the low cable row is really at floor level so doing a seated row means sitting on the floor, which I thought I'd be okay with but it's a tad annoying. I'm 5'10.5" and don't get a good stretch at the top of the pull-down movement. The BIG PLUS in this purchase is the upgrade accessories. These are some very sturdy bars and rope pull and are really worth the purchase price....100%. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and the price is close to being a good deal compared to other brands.

Perfect for home gym!
WOW. Amazing product and great addition to my home garage gym, did alot of research on home lat pulldown machines and am so glad i decided to go with this xmark one! Packaging was real nice and overall quality of product is very good as well. This thing is heavy duty and is perfect for a wide variety of excercises with different attachments. Like the other reviews on here though i did notice the instructions do not state to feed the cables through the pulleys as you go so this way you dont have to do re work. Other than that instructions were straightforward, just wished they made note of it for the consumer. Been a month now since using it and am loving it. Its in the middle of home quality and commercial quality, like i said this thing is heavy duty and so far have tested 295lbs and no issues. Highly Recommended to anyone wanting to start home gym, also the videos some users have uploaded already helped through the install, took me and my buddy about 3 hours but thats because weโre not very hands on and the whole cable line and pulley issue

Great machine
Terrific lat machine for a home gym. Sturdy, and not too bad to put together, especially with the video instructions you can access on the product page. I saw some people said it was a tad flimsy, but I usually use a 45-pound plate on each side and it is no problem. Very happy, and the price was decent.

Gym Quality Lat Machine that's Perfect for Home Use
I have owned a few different home gym Lat Machines previously and the Xmark is head and shoulders above all others. Impressed with the thick gauge steel used to fabricate and the cables and assembly hardware were high quality as well. It came in 2 boxes that were both double boxed to help prevent shipping damage. All items were professionally packaged with extra cardboard and plastic bags. None of the parts were scratched or damaged. The packaging used to hold all the bolts and fasteners came undone during shipping, but it wasn't a problem. All the bolts, washers and screws were accounted for. This machine is well designed and can handle lots of weight. Very impressed with the smooth cable action and how sturdy it is when performing all the various exercises. Padding on seat and leg rest are excellent. Overall assembly is pretty straight forward. Everything you need is included (box & allen wrench). I recommend you use a 10mm socket instead of the wrench provided. Like others have mentioned, be sure to feed cable through while assembling (step #4 is where you need to begin this). I assembled by myself at it took about 1 hour. As always, its best to lay out all the parts, familiarize yourself with instructions before you begin to assemble. There are 2 cables included, the one that is "U" shaped with a nut/bold goes in the top pulleys. Only critique I could add would be the quality of the 2 bar attachments included. They are ok quality, but not as good as the many options you can find on Amazon.
