My Alpine CDA-7897 finally took itself out of service after a wonderful 26 years of enjoyable listening. Alpine is light years ahead of the competition. Today, I am like a kid at Christmas who got, “just what I wanted!” A brand-new shiny Alpine in that hole in my dash with wires hanging out of it.I was quite surprised when I learned that, “CDs are a thing of the past!” (well, not really) Just satisfied that this unit does have a single disc slot in it so around here, CDs are alive and well. I spent a lot of time searching for a new head unit that would fit with my Alpine Power Amp and my Alpine CD Changer before discovering that allegedly, they do not make one.So the industry is pushing us to streaming because the so-called smartphone factories think this should bloat their bottom line. Happens all the time! I was a bit excited about getting XM Serious radio until I read the reviews. Apparently, they have a money/power struggle there too. They say that songs repeat way too much and that it just ain’t what it once was. I hooked up the tuner and antenna but the jury is still out on actually paying money to listen to my shiny new Alpine.In the end, the product I purchased from Amazon/Pacific Stereo rocks! In 100 lifetimes more I would never dream of purchasing anything but Alpine for my ride. You shouldn’t either. Amazingly, this is a product that keeps working as advertised!

Very nice car radio. Easy to install and it looks very cool. It connects to my phone instantly and the audio for hands free is very clear. Would recommend to anyone looking for a high quality auto stereo.
