They work!
I just needed the lanyard not the whole assembly. Keeps my gas cap attached. Easy to install

Waste of money
First attempted order of this product arrived with the rubber/plastic tether cut in half even though it was still sealed in the packaging. Amazon shipped me another one, but it lasted literally a day before it broke into multiple pieces when I opened the door to fill up. It leads me to believe that whatever material they are using to make the tether is never going to hold up so the entire kit is useless to me.Although I can kind of see what they were going for design-wise with the metal clip, it refused to stay securely fastened to my gas cap.

works, but the bare minimum
I installed this on my 05 Subaru Outback Limited when the original retainer broke near the fuel door. It does work - snapped right around the cap, the other side locked into the door, no problem. However, unlike the original retainer, the metal ring does not rotate easily around the gas cap, and the length of the retaining strap is a bit short. It is fully functional - I could open the fuel door and both lock and unlock the cap. But since the metal ring doesn't rotate, it pulls the strap with it when you are unscrewing the cap, which adds additional resistance and tugs a bit on the fuel door.I ended up just repairing the original retainer by using a soldering iron to melt each broken end together, then covering the junction with heatshrink tubing. If it breaks again, I replace it with an OEM retainer. However, I will keep this one on hand as a backup, just in case.

Install not so easy on MotoRad MGC791 Locking Fuel Tank Cap
Some fuel caps seem to have a ridge around the rim, based on photos shown. There is no ridge on my 5th Gen 4Runner fuel cap or on the MotoRad MGC791 Locking Fuel Tank Cap. My attempts at getting the wire to fit inside and behind the seal gasket on the MotoRad MGC791 Locking Fuel Tank Cap were unsuccessful, even when making strategic bends in the wire. However, as others have mentioned, I was able to drill a hole in the handle portion of the MotoRad MGC791 Locking Fuel Tank Cap, and it seems to work very well.My take on it: For installation, you have to figure out what works for your fuel cap. But at least this gives you the hardware to use to make some method work.

Easy to install
We have a 2012 Honda civic and its gas cap tether broke. Tried getting a gas cap replacement but since I only need the tether, this is a more affordable fix. Installation is easy and now I don’t have to worry dropping my gas cap when filling up.

So overpriced it's absolutely annoying
Don't buy this product. Make the effort to buy a complete fuel cap replacement that comes with a tether, it will be the same cost as this. You will be frustrated at how cheaply made this product is and how little you get for your money. This should be at most a few dollars.

Fuel Cap Tether for Fiat Ducato
The principle is good but it will not fit the model of Ducato Motorhome I have even though advertised as it will. And I think that will also apply to the Citroen and Peugeot variants. You need a proper tether. Unfortunately none of the brands stock them so it’s a new fuel cap at around £50.00. Wouldn’t use a second hand part. Could be as bad as the one you’ve got. Then you need to think about changing the fuel cap lock over also!

Very expensive
Very expensive for what you get.Basically a thether... (plastic cord), a few push pins and the metal bracket...which very likely will not work...I already have and idea on how to modify and fix my problem...This kit is at best .50 cents worth of materials...

Does not fit .
I bought this Fuel Cap Tether for a Fiat Grande Punto , the spring clip did not fit . I then tried to see if it would fit a Chrysler Neon , it would not fit that fuel cap , I then tried to see if it would fit a Ford Escort fuel cap , it did not fit any of the fuel caps . I have returned it and am waiting for a refund .
