Fun way to present your gift!
These were fairly easy to set up with your own code. They are reusable too. Nice way to present a small gift or cash.

Perfect for adding some adventure to a gift!
I got this to challenge my cousins on Christmas. They loved the little get-the-ring-off type puzzles I gave them a few years ago, so I decided to try this. I thought up a word, then gave them clues for each letter and the word as a whole, but not in order and with no directions. They figured it out in about half an hour, but with about 7 or so people working on it at once. They all LOVED it! I put some candy and some directions on where to find their gift inside. They are looking forward to resetting it for future use.I didn't have any quality issues mentioned in previous reviews. But you have to be a little realistic too. This is priced, and built, like an entrainment piece. Would I like one made of metal and precision ball bearings? Sure! But I don't think I'd want to pay for that. Half the fun is in the hunt. All the parts worked as designed and looked decent. The opening is a little narrow, but will fit a gift card. I had no problem resetting the code word following the directions. If you take some time to make the puzzle solving a challenge and fun for the recipient, this will be a huge hit! I could see someone being a little disappointed if they had to spend a lot of time trying to rotate the rings around guessing at the code word, but if you have most of the challenge in discovering clues and working the code out, then this serves as a fantastic centerpiece to the mystery.

Puzzle Pod Cryptex - Brain Teaser & Coin Bank Review
The challenge is exiting; however, the construction leaves much to be desired. The bills in the ad are stiffened somehow...yours won't look like this once inside. The bottom has a coin slot, so it can also become a bank. One use could be for anyone who swears or does something contrary to an agreement, must "feed the kitty." When full, the contest to win the proceeds begins! There are many uses here. The container is roomy for small gifts of an assortment of bills as the prize/reward for decrypting the puzzle. A five-letter code (one letter per ring) is entered and can be changed for additional challenges. The rings are on VERY loosely and easily move out of place, so you should either decrypt on a flat surface of hold the previous layers steady so they don't move. Be careful in removing the capsule as the rings may move or the device come apart. In resetting a new code, DO NOT let the rings move or you may never figure out what happened or be able to reopen the capsule. With skill and care this can be managed and lots of fun had. I already have had a few challenges in the capsule for my family. My daughter posted a picture for her friends and some are asking where to get one! Each week I give a vague hint. The first to open it, get the "goods" inside. Pricing was great, delivery was fast, and packaging was secure.

Pretty cool
First of all, it is a pretty good size. Sturdy enough for its purpose. I think someone said it was too easy, others too hard to figure it out. Well, it leans towards hard, that is because without clue's there are way too many combinations. What makes it easy, is a trick to open. So, it is true that it can be opened without the actual combination lined up, this is because there is some play on the rings (about 4/5 letters wide). This could have been done on purpose for several reasons, one is so the locking mechanism is easy to close/setup as it is not so precise. Another reason is to make it easier(not easy) to guess by just playing with it which I still find difficult and will require some luck. My ultimate assumption, is because you might be able to tell when the rings line up or pass by the anchor, if you make it precise to the letter, it would be easy to solve it by using this method, so they probably did this to make that method just a little harder, but not impossible. I really like, it was very easy to setup and looks cool. Great for storing money or as a gift. One Idea for gifting is to give a each single letter to different people and have those people offer a clue to their letter or make them done something for it. The 5 people would only know their letter making it a fun game. Or do 4 people and guess the last letter as you still don't know the order. Recommended.

Work for your gift!
This is an awesome device. Didn’t know what to get my grandpa this year for Christmas and don’t know much of his interests. All I know is he like DQ and puzzles. So I bought a DQ gift card and stuffed it in here. He won’t be gettIng his gift card so easily, instead he has to work for it by solving a puzzle. Pretty good idea I thought to give him two things he likes, plus threw in a Tourbillon Watch from Forsining. I think he’ll enjoy it. As for the product itself, feels like it is cheap plastic, but surprisingly is very complex when you follow the instructions. Very simply to use and the buttons or slides tend to move all at once when trying to move just one letter. That doesn’t mark a star down or anything since the product works as expected. It’s a great gift idea for anyone looking at making your recipients work hard to get their gift, or maybe trick your co workers at work by stuffing candy in it and make them guess the code. It also is a piggy bank as well and just is a great product over all. Definitely Recommend this.

This puzzle is awesome!
I bought two of these for my sisters for Christmas and put some cash inside. They are both in their twenties and had a blast trying to figure out the combinations. It is super fun to watch the faces of frustration of the person you give this to as they try to figure it out as well. There are millions of possibilities to set for the code, ensuring that the receiver will not stumble on the correct answer by chance. You can even reuse each puzzle as many times as you want by resetting the code.I have read some reviews complaining that the material the puzzle is made of is plastic and would be easy to break into. Yes, someone could take a hammer to it and "cheat" if they wanted. But ultimately this is a toy. If the person you are planning to buy this for is that boring, maybe you are better off buying them another sweater for Christmas. If you want to give someone a truly unique gift that they will always remember, this is the way to go!
