Over the years, I have drank a lot of different coffees from across the world with a lot of different flavor profiles. Most of them range from having a slight bitter edge to being outright bitter. Enter Valhalla Java. This is the smoothest coffee coffee I have ever consumed while maintaining a robust flavor. Even though I don't particularly like my coffee black, this is so smooth that I can drink it without adding any cream or milk. As for how I make it, I have used both hot and cold brewing methods both to good effect. Using a Keurig with a reusable K-cup does a decent job so long as I keep the cup size small. My preferred method is cold brewing using the Takeya Deluxe Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker. Yes, it takes longer this way but the coffee comes out so good that I can drink it without anything added to it. At the same time, the coffee comes out strong enough to stand up to the splenda and hazelnut coffee mate that I prefer to add to it. Needless to say, this is my favorite coffee and I will continue to buy it for the foreseeable future.

Until recently Death Wish would be 5 stars. My wife and I got hooked on their Valhalla coffee a couple years ago. It’s pricier but was well worth it when we could indulge. The coffee had a hell of a kick and unarguably the best taste in any coffee we could find! We will buy the 5 lb bags of the beans as they are the best value and freshness, have also purchased smaller bags on their site. A few weeks ago we could not find the beans so we bought a 5lb bag of the grounds. We were very disappointed with the freshness, flavor, and KICK? It had been a little while since indulging and what a disappointment! Hoping it was just the grounds and giving them the benefit of the doubt we waited til grounds were available and bought another 5 lg bag without any complaints, reviews, or expectations. We are shoppers who like to think there is still value in loyalty and appreciate tremendously that coffee they have provided these past couple years. I suppose when you pay a high price for something, there can be some expectations? We bought a new bag a couple weeks ago and still disappointed? It’s such a bummer that we may not be able to enjoy an amazing coffee or spend the time to find a suitable replacement;( It is possible that they have become so big that they can no longer meet the demands and take shortcuts on quality or even have outsourced to meet sales? I hope they can find new ways to deliver that great coffee we loved and were willing to pay extra for?

Love this coffe

So avid coffee drinker, was seeking something special/new/interesting... tried it first in the 12oz. Loved everything about the strong aroma, smooth taste, and the kick it gives. Loved it so much had to share it with friends and fam, and obviously ran out of the 12 oz coffee way too fast. Rushed a bulk order, but without caffeine in my system goofed up what I ordered, which lead me to interact with the company and find out just how amazing they truly are. Expanded my horizon to try their original death wish coffee, which is also good, but it's no Valhalla Java. Odinforce Blend is what coffee is meant to be. Do not be afraid of the power it brings along with its delight! For even if you have a director/supervisor who insists you not to drink the coffee due to it causing spontaneous facial hair growth, Berserker level of adrenaline, and valkyries to appear in your office... some rules are meant to be broken.

I quite enjoy the three varieties of Death Wish Coffee that I have tried. Each one I have bought on a lightning deal or other promotion. I do not normally purchase pre-ground coffee, but this deal was too good to pass up. I do think Death Wish coffee is expensive, hence 4 stars. I live in Brooklyn where everyone seems to be living a hedonistic lifestyle lately- there is a place with $7 lattes on my corner, so I guess I still save money by buying and making this coffee at home. This coffee is complex and rich- I might have to put less next time- that isn't something I normally say. I generally will not spend more than $10 a pound on coffee, and I try to always buy fair trade organic, as it is more important that I support the growers than making a company a profit.
