Heads above the other mason jar books out there
I have a real fondness for mason jars but am not into the hassle of canning at this point in my life. I have some gorgeous vintage ones from my family and was looking for a way to use them. I looked at many, many craft books that featured projects for mason jars and just wasn't really happy with any of them. Most of the projects looked cheap and a complete waste of a good, old mason jar.Happily, this book delivers on that score. The projects in here are attractive and actually useful. I also like that you don't really need any specialty tools for this. If you're any kind of crafter or even just a homeowner, you have this stuff (drill, hot glue gun, spray paint, etc.). Some of the projects look more difficult than others but in addition to the author telling you they are, you can kind of tell just by looking what will take a little more effort. Ironically, I think my favorite is one of the easiest - the air plant terrariums. An added bonus was that I went to check out the author's blog and ended up really loving it. So now I have even more projects that I want to do and don't have time for!

Lovely collection of projects!
I've been a fan of Lauren's blog for several years, and this book absolutely didn't disappoint! From the minute I unwrapped the book, I knew I'd love it. Beautiful photos and styling make this a lovely book to keep on the coffee table, or give for a gift (perhaps with a completed project from inside!). Full of projects, from the very simple to relatively complicated, I cannot wait to craft my way through this book! The directions and step-by-step photos are incredibly helpful, and I also really appreciate the tips section at the end of every project. There are some lovely projects using the lids of mason jars as well (my fav might be the ribbon chandelier!). It's so nice to see every bit of the jar used, especially since many projects use the jar but not the lid. Even though I probably won't make every craft in this book, I love looking at all the photos. Such a lovely collection of inspiration.

Good for all skill levels.
Awesome book with a lot of great ideas. I wish there were more ideas that required fewer additional components, but the explanations are clear and easy to understand with a lot of project variety. Good for all age and skill levels.

Great book to check out, not to own
This book was ok. It seemed some of the ideas were more event specific like weddings, and some of the ideas were just not my taste, some seemed a bit 70's with the jars hanging from the knotted strings. Even the coat rack posted on the cover, all I see is a potential break happening! Good for a few ideas but other than that, instead of returning it, I donated it to my local library.

Mishandled Christmas Present
Book was crinkled and bent and misshaped when I got it and that was not a good condition to give it to my girlfriend for Christmas. But other than that it was good!
