amazon music Unlimited HD では、非常によい音質で聴けると思います。 1曲目のSara smile はダリルの繊細なボーカルが鳥肌ものです。 初期のH&0の代表曲の１つであるShe's Gone は収録されていませんが、 彼らの黄金期の最後、1984年のアルバムBig Bam Boomまでの曲が年代順に収録されていて この80's 洋楽をリアルタイムで体験していた世代には刺さりすぎるベスト盤です。 H&0 の初期、後期を聴くには他のベスト盤に頼ることになりますが 原点回帰した後期のH&Oと黄金期は、このベスト盤のように 区切りをつけて評価してもよいところでしょう。 彼らの黄金期のすばらしい数々の楽曲を一度に聴くことができるベスト盤です。

I love this 2001 compilation album so much, it's a snapshot from mid '70's to mid '80's, every track is great in its own way - Hall & Oates' sound always takes me back to a simpler and more carefree time. Track 1, Sara Smile, is a smooth soulful love song from 1975, it fair boggles the mind that it's 40yrs old! Track 2, Rich Girl, is more upbeat, but still seriously soulful, with a great little riff, and their harmonies, here and everywhere are always on point. Track 3, It's A Laugh, it's more rocky, puts me in mind of an old Elton John sound sometimes. Hall & Oates' music over the years spans soul, rock, pop, blues & funk. I reckon if you like one or two of their songs it computes you'll pretty much like them all. I'm not so into their cover of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", but overall, this really is The Very Best of...I bought this very good condition disc from zoverstocks as a replacement, I lost my original a few years ago. I always start this album with the super-funky Track 9, "I Can't Go For That", repeat it a few times as I really CAN go for that, get stuck on Track 11, "Maneater" for a bit, the sax on both those tracks is pure delicious, then play it on through. A great cd for a sunny afternoon...
