Amazing price!!! - I am a hauge pumpkins fan so its more or less a given that i would have loved this but the extra's on here are very good indeed. I have bought many bootlegs over the years with lots of rare tracks that are on here but there are so many more i had never heard before. This period of time in the pumpkins history was unbeleivably rich with great songs and when you think of the size of the melon colie album itsself with all the b sides on the singles and all the extra never released tracks it is mind bending to think that four people came up with so many great riffs and songs over a few years. This is a must buy for any fan but i at the price is worth mining for the casual pumpkins listener as well. The price is reasonalble to say the least! almost £50 cheaper than iTunes. Love it! Review: The Aeroplane boxset on steroids - Originally released in the nineties as a singles boxset, it contained some fantastic b sides. Now expanded with loads of extra tracks and a DVD. There's early demos and alternate versions of Mellon Collie tracks and the b sides. There's even a few unfinished unreleased tunes that sound amazing. You can almost hear the classic pumpkins tracks they never became. The original boxset was amazing, this is like that but jacked up to 11.

Epic
Brilliant in every way, a must for all true pumpkins fans. I found this title in the pumpkins own web-site and have nearly all albums, leaving out the remastered ones etc. and had to have it. once again, brilliant, you need to listen and judge for yourselves but you wont be disappointed.

I'm no "pro-reviewer" or anything, btw. This review is for The Aeroplane Flies High reissue 5LP vinyl set. Upon opening: Great, simple packaging. Think MCIS vinyl box. No book...not a problem for me. I think I get the point by now. Sleeves match CD set design. Inner-sleeve inserts are nice, as per usual. They have lyrics, track listing and credits. Overall set seems free of exterior defects. 10/10 1979: First impression is that I got a great copy. Everything sounds consistent and alive! Definitely enjoying this. Only thing I noticed was "Ugly." That song inherently has some low bass frequencies going on. If you've ever cranked that song in your car or on some crappy system, I'm sure you've noticed that it gets a little too much to handle on the chorus. It didn't sound bad to me, I'm just pointing out that it was noticeable, just like the original version. Still, best I've heard that song! 10/10 ZERO: Knocked it outta the park. Plain and simple. Sounds effin' fantastic. No distortion on Zero. PM is intact...bare in mind the production/levels of the original. Everything is faithful . Best I've heard these songs! 10/10 TONIGHT, TONIGHT: Same as Zero- faithful/flawless copy. All the folk-ier songs are definitely a hit. Makes my ears happy. 10/10 THIRTY-THREE: Here's where I get a little whiny. My copy is popping on TT. Just at the beginning. I stopped and inspected. Looks to be a spot/scratch or smudge on the vinyl. Tried cleaning it, but to no avail. Just this copy, I'm sure. That can happen. Not a game changer...have it on MCIS. Bass is a little heavy on TT. Probably the same as MCIS. In TAFH, I heard some ray-gun like sound I had never noticed before. :w00t: My Blue Heaven seemed to sound more old-timey, which I loved. Definitely in the production I think. Been awhile since I had listened/focused on that one again. Reminds me of Christmas! (received TAFH box set for Xmas in '96) I'd say another 10/10 in theory, but I give my copy a 7/10. BWBW: Seems to be a great copy. Everything sounds warm and vibrant. YAIGT, Clones - sound phenomenal...rocking me harder than usual! ANLT seems like it benefitted from the remaster. Cellos seem like they got a little extra umph- or I'm just noticing them more. Whadda great cover! May be my favorite on this one! DU sounds nice in all its synth-pop glory. Subtle nuances are poppn' out quite nicely. I think Dreaming has been mixed different, just like the CD set, no vinyl flaws detected. 10/10 I know I rated it pretty highly, but I believe it to be totally worth it. With the exception of my "popping" on Thirty-Three, I find this to be a grand-slam. Again, I'm no reviewer or have any superhuman vinyl listening skills...hope this helps!

Auf CD 1 "Bullet" sind die Highlights die Coverversionen "You're all I've got tonight", "Clones" und "A night like this". Auf CD 5 "Thirty-three" habe ich intensiv "The Last Song" gelauscht.

For the insane amount of money I spent getting this, because I lost the original in a divorce settlement, and it arriving in less than 30 hours, well worth the price.
