Burnt Sienna, Chinese White, Crimson Lake, Permanent Green #1, Prussian Blue, Viridian, Burnt Umber, Cobalt Blue, Ivory Black, Vermilion, Yellow Ochre, Compose Blue, Jaune Brilliant #2, Permanent Green #2, Permanent Yellow Deep, Rose Madder, Mineral Violet, and Permanent Yellow Lemon.

Q: What are the colors in this set?

Basic primary watercolors - all you will need as they can be blended together to create other colors. They work beautifully. I've given my other water colors away and use only these!

Q: I always use solid watercolor set and this will be my first liquid set. I am wondering if I can let them dry, then use as solid paint?

Yes absolutely! That is how I use mine, I have them in several pans and half pans in a magnetic palette. The majority of artist grade tube paints work wonderfully by squeezing them out into a palette or pans and allowing them to dry completely, and then re-wetting them for painting. Once completely dried, the smallest amount of water brings the watercolor paints back to life! I prefer using tube paints like this so there is less waste than when you attempt to squeeze out the amount you think you need each time you paint.

Q: what is the difference between holbein w403 watercolor and artists' watercolor

I have no idea. When I purchased this product, it was called "Holbein Artists' Watercolor 5ml 18 Color Set" on the product page. I am not sure why it's called something different now. Looking at my box and on the tubes of paint, I do not see w403 anywhere.
