Serves multiple purposes and works great!!
This item is actually used in an aquarium, but I bought mine to go on my desk to add some colored lighting instead of having to always turn on a white desk lamp. I could not be happier with this purchase. I have two of them, and they work great! I would highly recommend these to anyone, for any purpose. The only thing you have to be careful of is leaving the light bar on full power for a long period of time, as it will get relatively warm. Overall, it is a great product and totally worth the price.

Outstanding
ProsGreat Brightness, pure white, better than my double fourescent bulb interms of the quality of the light.Size. It doesnt look like much but is the perfect size. Just laid it on the top of my tank cover and it looks awesomeConsI bought a marineland LED light and I lost the box it came in so I can't return it. Not nearly as bright, bulky, but I can still use the blue lighting for night time effect. If you are looking for a bright daytime light - this is the one for you.

Fantastic color of these LED lights
I saw these in a pet store when I went to get a few more fish and loved the color of the lights and how great the tanks looked. I had to purchase 2 12" and put them together slightly overlapping in the middle to fit my tank hood as the 24" was 2" too big. They were super easy to setup and I was able to use the hood from the tank kit to hook them up into using the supplied screws and brackets. The lights barely get hot and are very powerful. I could have gotten away with one but having the two let me get the light to be edge to edge on the tank. They illuminate all the way to the bottom with no problem. I did find that the cables on each could have been a bit longer so I can hide them behind the tank better. They are a little short for my liking. I did have to purchase the splitter to connect the two strips to one power transformer. Although everything I purchased added up quickly and became expensive, I have already noticed a huge difference in the overall quality of my tank. ( i have uploaded photos and descriptions).I'm very happy with these LED strip lights and hope that they last as long as they claim. The startup costs are a little high but you will be very happy with the lighting!

Worked great for a year but rusting now.
I purchased three of these for my tank. 1 actinic, 1 white, and 1 combo. They are really nice and bright but I was cleaning the tank today and had the hood up and noticed the combo light is rusting quite badly and several LED's are out and others are flickering. I'm not even sure what is rusting as this thing is pretty much aluminum. The other 2 look and work great. Weird. Probably going to order a new one and try again. I got only 1 year out of it but the look nice.

Good lights but mine must have been a dud!
I had mine for only 4 months and the LED's started going out. Apply pressure and they would start working again. I attempted to reach the seller but without a phone #, I got nowhere and don't have the time to chase them. I thought an email would have been enough. Too expensive of a light to have issues with so little time on them. I repurchased another light (same part #) and so far, so good. Unfortunately, I've got a malfunctioning light sitting here that can't be used and I paid good money for it!

I like it
I've owned the 48" fixture for several months now and it continues to perform with no issues. It puts out more than enough light for my 70-gallon marine aquarium.Mine is not a true reef tank; the only invertebrates it contains (apart from snails and hermit crabs) are three condylactis anemones, which seem to be thriving. Algae growth is sufficient to keep my snails busy and my anemones happy, but not at all overwhelming. My favorite thing about this fixture is how thin it is. I allows me to open the tank's glass tops without having to remove the light, which is great for feeding and for maintenance.Keep in mind that you'll have to purchase the power supply separately.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this fixture.

Very bright and well made!
Used these to supplement my radion on my 29g biocube. I bought the diamond white and blue. Honestly, I really only needed the blue as these are really bright compared to others I'veAmazon. When I use both strips with my radion, it's just too much light. The quality is solid and I couldn't be happier. I just need to get a ramp up/down controller. Oh, Only thing is the power supply they sell is too expensive. It's like $45 when you can find one with the same specs for $15 on amazon. Other than that, I highly recommend these!

Have two LED strips, one losing LEDs, other died. 2016, much better out there now, don't buy.
2021 update: These were the first 4 LED strips I bought. Have bought several others different brand since. Not much light from these vs. new design. Aluminum heat sink is too small so they run warmer than the others. Low wattage for the price. Net: Do not buy.---older review.I have two of these 24 in units on a 3-way splitter... a blue/actinic one and a fusion one. The blue is new, looks great. Very blue. The Fusion is bright, mostly white even though one in three LEDs is blue and a year old.The 'fusion' led strip in a years use has lost two sections of LEDs -- one with 6 LEDs and one with 7 LEDs and there are two other LEDs out in other parts. Overall the strip is still very bright, if you look at the strip to see how many LEDs have failed like I just did you will be seeing spots for a while.I am happy with both LED strips as they are now, but will be regretting this purchase if in another year these strip have lost another set of LEDs.I will not be buying any more until I know how these hold up long term. Part of the reason for buying them was to avoid annually replacing the two 65W power compact bulbs I have over my tank. If they fail in 2-3 years they are not an effective replacement.
