ASUS O!Play Mini HD Media Player

(takes time in normal LCD/DVD players with USB input) 4. Neat and responsive remote and even Phillips batteries are provided. 5. High quality AVI cord. 6. AC adapter with both 3 pin and 2 pin attachments. (Shows ASUS attention to details) 7. Instruction manual and CD provided. 8. Neat packing. No HDMI cable provided. Just to point out a cons tats it. And there are very few cheaper options (eg cubetex) available but as always ASUS is an accepted brand in electronics so dont think too much and no more researching go for it.

The remote went bad after 1.5 years and guess what without the remote the device is useless. Contacted ASUS customer support and they are redirecting me to a retailer who says there is no remote available.

If u are looking for a portable media player, don't forget to buy this. Plays almost all formats. Only problem is that reaponse time is little slow. Have patience. Not advisable for viewing photos, quality not that great. Video and audio playing quality is good. 4 starts 1 less for response time

Plays almost any format you throw at it. The biggest plus point of this beauty is that it has both a composite and HDMI out so you can enjoy full HD and plug into a CRT when required. Add to this an SD Card slot and an optical out for crystal clear sound you get an all in one multimedia beast. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase! Thumbs up!

The Asus O! Play Mini is a reliable, reasonably priced and compact high-definition multi-media player for playing back audio, video and photo files stored in various digital formats. This ability to play multiple formats is its primary advantage over standard CD, DVD and blu-ray players. In performance though it does not match the quality of those players, especially video quality, on the formats they can commonly play. The lack of adequate on-board memory is a disadvantage compared to HSTI's even smaller Moboplay which can resume play back of multiple files from the point last viewed even after being switched off. The Asus needs to index all files on the attached storage component (memory stick, external hard-drive, etc) every time it is switched on, an irritant compared to the smoother, immediate response of the Moboplay. For this it gets only 3 stars. Its scores over the Moboplay, however, in its ability to play FLAC files efficiently and a more responsive remote control - in both these respects the Moboplay is poor. In conclusion the Asus O! Play Mini delivers reasonably well on its promise and is recommended for that reason.

Not a good device, Not recommend..... Very bad performance... Not at all worth for this cost.... Lot of user un confortabilty... Interface looking like China product. Instood of this , u can buy Sony bluray player cost 6000 . That's playing very smooth and very fast . I return it back on the 2nd day itself

This is the first media play which was able to play all the formats in my HDD. Starting from 360p to 1080p, mkv,avi,mov,mp4,h264, mp3, m3u,3gp,jpg,png, and any other format that you can think of. Pros/features: This is V2 version which can play more number of formats This comes with India and UK version of plugs Box has 4 major things, the Player (size of a small router), Remote, Power plug and AV cable.(No HDMI) and some papers (manual,warranty) Inputs are Pen Drive/HDD(1TB 2.0/3.0) / USB(1.0,2.0,3.0) and SD Card reader Outputs are AV and HDMI. Does not heat up on running a Full HD movie for 3 hours (Pen driver heats heated a little) Cons: Cost is high.. Although you get the quality product from ASUS, still.. its high.

Have been using this for over a year. I really like it. Pros : - Plays every format you can throw at it - Decent interface - Volume control on remote - Easy to carry Cons : - My remote control developed problems after a year. So did a friend's. [May just need to open it and clean it etc, but thats not a simple task as its a sealed unit]

A very good unit and well worth the price. This item arrived well packed. I bought it as it has both HDMI output and the Yellow Red and White video/audio. The remote works well most of the time,but I think the unit has to think a bit. Screen aspect does not seem to fit? I checked and changed the screen aspect on my TV and the screen fitted fine. It takes my 1TB portable hard drive as plug and play, I have 300GB on it and it took about 25 mins to "catalogue" it.,but this is just the first time. I have one flash drive it will not recognise. You need to read the manual and have a little patience All this said, I am extremely pleased with it. It looks good and plays all my movies and music albums. I enjoy seeing my photos on the big screen.

This is, by far, one of the best media players HD out there. Very cheap and works like a charm. This can play flawlessly any kind of video, audio, and photo file. I play HD1080p content without any issue. The unit boot up very quickly, menus are simple and response is quick. HDD detection is pretty fast (my old WD needs 10x more time to detect the USB drives). Add to the great HDMI and Optical audio quality, you still have regular RCA video/audio cables. I used it in some Hotels. Quality is superb. Power consumption is low and you can browse your movies by list, preview or thumbnails (great!). There is no lot of options on this one like Network connection, WIFI, Netflix or other Online services, but sometimes, simple is better! I highly recommend this product. I purchase about 15 of this ones for friends and families.

ASUS OPLAY_MINI/1A/NTSC/AS O!Play Mini Digital Media Player,When I ordered this produced it offered free shipping and suppose to take a few days for delivery. However, it was shipped by UPS and only take a day!! the Quick Start Guide with 9 pages of English instruction.However, it comes with 200 pages with more than 10 different language on it.Same as DVD with many different language on that. All instructions are simple, you must figure out by yourself. To my surprise, this machine has Chinese language input. The package of this Unit including AV cable, but is very short. I have to buy a new one from electronic shop. A few months ago, I bought a different model of ASUS, it only have HDMI output.But my TV does not have HDMI connection. So I have to return it. This one has AV cable, Optical cable and HDMI . So it can connect to old TV without problem. This machine can read any format including Real Media format .RM or RMVB The picture and sound quality is good too. The result : it is a very good Media Player

I first got this to use as an alternative to my PS3 because some of the videos I was trying to play on my ps3 were cinivia protected, also my ps3 doesn't support MKV. At first I was a little skeptical, and looked around at all my options, and boy are there a lot when it comes to media players on amazon. I ultimately decided on the Asus OPlay mini because of it's nice form factor, aesthetically pleasing design, and it doesn't take up much space. So far I have NO! complaints. It plays every type of file I've thrown at it flawlessly. For the price, I don't think there is anything better on the market. I chose this product because Asus has never let me down in the past, and I'm glad I purchased this media player. The remote: People are complaining the remote is not responsive, I don't have this problem, unless you are very far away from your TV you shouldn't either. I'm sure this is only a problem when you are far away, cause I'm about 10 or so feet away from mine, and it's always responsive and fluid. Pros: - Plays every type of file you can throw at it - Small form factor, fits almost any where - Can read both of USB and SD card, and works with external HD's connected to it via the usb. - Aesthetically pleasing, this thing looks great for a product that cost so little. Cons: - Ships with out dated firm ware, can easily update by downloading the latest version from the Asus site and putting it on your USB, and plugging it in and updating it. - The widgets, and operating system don't look very good on it, but you don't spend much time fiddling around with those if you are using it to watch movies, so it's fine.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my father who is somewhat computer challenged. Its so easy to use! Download movies/music etc, and transfer to a USB flash drive or SD card which plugs right into the unit. Menu is super easy to navigate, you have the full video functions you would have with a computer media player. The unit is very compact, the remote is sturdy and again, easy to navigate. It has connections for HDMI and standard audio video connections. Would recommend for anyone! Great product!
