No, they don't run big, I took a 10-1/2, there a bit narrow but they fit good on me once they stretched in the width. Lenght was a good fit.

Q: Why is the heel only 1 inch and not 1.5 inch? It's like they've downgraded, Shredder and Sargeant boot 1.5inch heel was better

These boots are horribly made, don’t waste your money. They look great the sole wears out quick and it was also detaching on both shoes. I really wish the quality matched the price.

Q: How distressed is the leather on these boots? it's hard to find distressed leather boots that really are distressed unless you pay alot.

The black ones are not distressed at all. I had to do it myself. I’m guessing the brown ones aren’t very distressed either.

Q: Do these have removable insoles?

No. Word of warning though...my son wore them for a week walking around campus, then I had to glue the sole back on one of them. It was more than halfway off.
