Easy setup — smooth once connected
I purchased this to make my older car compatible with wireless CarPlay/Android Auto. Setup was straightforward: just plug it into the USB port, connect via Bluetooth, and you’re ready to go. Once connected, it loads quickly and hasn’t dropped signal during drives. ✅ Pros: Compact size, fast boot-up, no noticeable lag while navigating or streaming music. ⚠️ Cons: The initial pairing took a couple of tries, and it does draw a small amount of battery if left plugged in. It’s been a huge upgrade for convenience — I no longer have to plug my phone in every time. Worth it if you want a modern feel without replacing your whole system.

Ottocast mini for android users
Works really good for me. I had to clear my cache on my phone first and then delete all phones saved on my car and then I was able to pair it and the android auto icon was able to show up on my cars infotainment screen. It connects pretty fast when i start my car. It doesn't cut off at anytime when driving running errands or my commute 120 mile round trip 5days a week. Great for the price.

Works but improvements needed
First, the product itself does the job. However, the adapter for the USB C doesn't offer the right angle like the USB A to A does. I have found only ONE right angle adapter on the market that has the USB A configuration that will allow the dongle to face forward so you have access to the power button. If the adapter for the USB C included with the product was right angle (it definitely minimizes the chance for the dongle to accidentally get damaged from getting knocked out of the plug because it sticks out), I would rate it higher The other issue is that even when you open the car door and get out of the car, the dongle continues to try to reconnect to the phone for a couple of minutes until the car completely powers down. I have even used the notification to "disconnect", but the dongle overrides the disconnect command on the phone. The only options I have found (so far) to address this is to 1. Unplug the dongle before getting out of the car, or 2. Just deal with the connect/disconnect cycling for the couple minutes you're within range of the car (which 30-40 feet is STILL within range). Fix the issues mentioned above and I'll upgrade to 5 stars UPDATE: I have changed the rating to one star because of my latest trip to Dallas. The dongle turned itself OFF for no reason (ultimately blanking my car screen AND my phone screen) leaving me with ZERO directions during critical interchanges. The dongle light would turn red, then off completely, then the blue light would turn back on, but blink. This happened EIGHT TIMES in less than 10 minutes. Don't waste your money, unless you don't care when the dongle turns itself off whenever it wants to at the most inopportune time.

Allows 2 iPhones to share 1 careplay
This device allows you to share the one wireless adapter across 2 iPhones, just need to press the button on the device to cause the switch. Works just as I had expected and solves all our problems.

Easy to connect, and works reliably.
I've been using this for a few weeks now, and it has worked great - allowing me to keep the phone in my pocket, or attach to a charger if needed. It does take a few seconds to activate when starting the car, but the same was true of the other brand I had used in the past - however, once powered-up and connected, the connection stays stable and works each time I start the car. The only negative is the process to update the firmware is poorly documented for Android devices, leaving out a step and being misleading in another. I found a walk-thru video posted online by someone else with the adapter; and once I watched that, it was easier to update. Overall, well worth the money, and recommended.

Great adapter
I purchased a super cheap adapter before but the signal strength was so weak it wouldn't work with my phone in my pocket. This adapter has great signal strength. It has worked with all the famy apple phones without issues. The size of this adapter is tiny and will fit any opening in the car. I didn't need an extension cables like my old model. I have had zero lag issues so far. This adapter has worked with every app that I needed it to. It was super easy to connect to my phone and my car. It has all the typical adjustments and settings.

Easy to install and set up. High reliability.
So far, so good. I've had this in my car for a month or so. That said, a week or so the connection between the phone and the device wasn't working. The phone was not connected to the device because the BT connection was not established from the phone. Operator error; easy fix. (Normally it's not required to re-establish the BT connection. Installation takes a couple of minutes or less. Plug the device into the car's USB port and turn it on. The setup was very easy. There's a right-angle USB adapter provided if needed. When the Bluetooth connection is made the device operates easily and connects quickly. I'd buy this device again.

Almost Excellent - The Glitches Are a Dealbreaker:[
I really wanted to love this device... The setup is easy, it connects quickly most of the time, and on good days it feels like a solid upgrade over plugging in my phone every time. The build quality seems decent, the 5GHz WiFi is a nice touch, and it’s compact enough to leave plugged in. When everything is behaving, it’s genuinely convenient. Unfortunately, the glitches are frequent enough that they ruin the experience. There’s a noticeable 0.5–1.5 second delay between touching anything on the infotainment screen and the actual response. Switching tracks on Spotify becomes annoying because you tap, nothing happens immediately, so you tap again and suddenly skip two songs. The same lag applies to the steering wheel controls and any other car buttons that should interact with CarPlay. It just feels unresponsive. Navigation apps are even worse. Both Waze and Google Maps have the same input lag, and for some reason you can’t zoom in or out on the map at all with this adapter (my car’s native wired CarPlay handles zooming just fine). Panning the map around is also laggy, which makes the whole navigation experience feel sluggish and imprecise. But the real deal-breaker is the audio dropout bug. The CarPlay interface renders normally on the screen and shows music as playing, but no sound comes out of the speakers. It doesn’t matter if it’s Spotify, YouTube, SiriusXM, or even trying Bluetooth - total silence. The only fix is to physically press the button on the Ottocast dongle to force a reboot. Sometimes it works perfectly for several drives, sometimes it dies after one ride, and occasionally it never even starts working properly. It’s incredibly annoying to have to reach over and restart the thing every time it happens. Just in the last few days a new bug appeared: the music playing through the speakers goes out of sync with what’s displayed on the screen. The video keeps going but the audio lags behind - it makes the whole thing basically unusable for media. I’m keeping it at 2 stars because there are still days when it works flawlessly and reminds me how good this could be. If Ottocast can iron out these reliability and latency issues, this would easily be a 4.5–5 star product. As it stands right now, the constant glitches and workarounds make me regret not just sticking with the cable.

Easy to set up.
I bought this dongle for my 2023 Hyundai Venue Elite. It was really easy to set up and the instructions are really easy to follow. It sits nicely out of the way close to where the phone charging pad is. It works perfectly and allows me to answer and make calls and also reads incoming texts to me and talk to text if I need to reply. I have GPS in my car but it’s good to have the google maps alternative too. On startup it is sometimes a little slow to connect but that’s not a problem.

RECOMENDABLE 100 %
RECOMENDABLE 100 %. Buen precio y calidad.

Easy Wireless CarPlay Upgrade
The OTTOCAST Mini 2025 works well for adding wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to a car. Setup is simple, and the connection is generally stable after pairing. It makes daily driving more convenient by removing the need for cables. Overall, a useful and practical upgrade for compatible vehicles.
