High Flow Ground Pool Pump (1HP 5400GPH 115V)

Ok I read the one star reviews and it frightened me, then read the five star reviews and said jeez I’m just gonna order the darn pump and see for myself. I ordered the one hp version to replace my old Hayward 3/4 hp pump which finally bit the dirt after many years of fateful service. Wow this pump is a lot quieter than my old one and pushes a little bit more water through the system. I have a 13,000 gallon in ground pool. First of all I read about how this new pump is not self priming… well mine is and hasn’t stopped self priming yet so I’m not sure how other folks hooked their pump up but I followed the directions and it is definitely self priming so far. The pump arrived complete no missing parts and no cracked housing or loose parts. I must warn you the 2” adapters are a little loose fitting I just used a ton of glue … the 1 1/2 threaded fittings were dead on exact fit for 1 1/2 inch pvc. This pump puts out a little more pressure than my old pump, my Hayward pool cleaner crawls faster with this new pump. Just so everyone knows … no matter how many horsepower you have you can only move about 2,200 to 2,400 gallons per hour though 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe so purchasing a bigger pump isn’t always gonna pump more water through a certain sized pipe. My old pump cost over $400 and used 11 amps… this one cost half that and uses only about 8 amps so I’m already saving money on my electric bill, also it’s running a lot cooler than the old one , just warm … not hot to the touch like the old one. I had absolutely no problems cutting the old pump out and installing this pump , just needed a couple fittings and some fresh glue and primer, I recommend greasing up the basket lid o-ring and the compression fitting o rings so they are easy to remove later if needed. I’m really impressed with this pump and will definitely purchase another one if needed however I also purchased the Asheron extended warranty no questions asked just in case for only 26 bucks for two years so I’m good to go and still wondering why so many one star reviews? Lol

I purchased this pump last summer. It worked well until it stopped this summer. I went back to Amazon to re-order the same pump and saw that the company had a two-year replacement policy. I contacted the company, but didn't really expect a response. To my surprise, they contacted me immediately and replaced the pump with a brand new one for free. When I asked about shipping time (I was afraid my pool would go green), they assured me it would be shipped immediately. It arrived within a few days. It is now hooked up and running perfectly. I am not used to such a positive experience, but am happy to recommend this company's ethical and responsive behavior!

I DO NOT recommend this motor! Mine is not even a year old and it’s done. Water leaked in to where capacitor is located for no apparent reason.

Extremely quiet and impressively powerful. Install was intermediate as i had to change the fittings from the last pump. So far so good

Finally got the pump after 3 days and the pump works for an above ground pool only. Was trying to lift water about 6 inches never worked. There is no hope of this pump self priming...even putting the pump below the pool had to prime the pump and fill the hose with water to get it started. Will not put up with this kind of junk...will be returning the pump.
