HOLBEIN ARTISTS COLORS G712 DESIGNERS GOUACHE ARTIST SET OF 18 15ML TUBES

As someone making the 'upgrade' from using Reeve's gouache to using artist quality gouache, the immediate difference in quality from Reeve's to Holbein is shocking. You use so much less paint to cover the same area, the colors are incredibly vibrant and highly pigmented, and they remain opaque even when watered down significantly. I've done a handful of sketches so far with these and am really happy with this purchase. I can tell that these tubes are going to last me a long time.I purchased this artist set alongside a set of the 12 designer colors. The prices for tubes of artist quality gouache are much better than you would find on Blick, where I buy most of my art supplies. I was expecting a wait for these as shipping comes from Japan, but it only took a couple of days to arrive.

Holbein Goache is, simply put, the best, most versatile, most pigmented paint I've ever used. Thinned waaaaaay down, they work just like traditional watercolors except that the colors stay far more true when dry, or at about 50/50 with water you get a very opaque result. Great colors, great texture, easy to mix, easy to re-wet....these will last me years, even when I paint nearly every day. They are pricey, but it's an investment. Nothing else is the same.

Be prepared to wait four weeks for delivery from Japan, but you save alot of money if you can wait. I'll be using these in airbrush and the colors are wonderful, very high quality paints worth the wait. I bought the smaller 5ml set to play with while I waited....

Best gouache for the price. Yeah not crazy about all the colors but i use at least 13 out of the 18 and the price per tube is almost 1/2 what it costs in the store. It is a no brainer to buy this set.
