Great quality boots. Very comfortable, very supportive. Great arch support too, which saves me from having to get separate insoles. When I first tried them on the toe box felt a bit stiff in ways that would rub into my foot when I moved just right. A bit of leather conditioner fixed that immediately. I normally wear a 9.5 wide shoe, but the 9.5 medium in these is just right. I got these for DIY stuff around the house and yardwork, and I expect them to serve me well. I do wish these were full grain leather instead of nubuck, but it's not a deal breaker. But hey - Timberland - I know you're going for sustainable and earth friendly and all of that, but for goodness sake use a box that's actually big enough for the boots! The boots were so crowded in there that the right toe box had a giant dent that dug into me horribly. I spent nearly an hour trying to push it back out and I convinced myself that a bit of leather treatment would take care of the rest. Thankfully I was right, but there really is no excuse for such a packaging failure on what is an otherwise fantastic boot. If I had been wrong about the leather treatment I would have had unusable boots that couldn't be returned. I love the boots, so please fix the box.

Size 15 - Brown. In light of the negative reviews about ‘not holding up long’ and ‘not being water resistant’ – I have had my boots for 6 months and they look better than when I first took them out of the box. I wore them throughout the all-day Land Rover Kentucky Cross Country Horse Event. It rained or drizzled throughout but these boots kept my socks and feet warm and dry. I wore these going through wet caves, walking across acres of wet grass, and going through mountain forests after it rained and never had any problem with any dampness. As for holding up: I live in a mountainous area with 10 acres of uneven terrain and need boots with good ankle support, so I wear these any time I go out. I have never had a pair of boots with better ankle support, that have been more comfortable, or held up nearly as well as these. THE KEY IS HARD WAX SHOE POLISH. The boots have ‘rough leather’ in the toes and the rest look like genuine shiny leather. Rough leather is far more susceptible to getting torn up. Hard wax shoe polish is mainly clay and carnauba wax, where the clay fills in and coats the leather – the wax moisturizes the inner leather to keep it soft and supple and protects it from getting damaged by making a rock-hard outer shell. I have dug up hundreds of heavy rocks in the fields, gone through forest to chainsaw and trim trees, and done all kinds of activities that would tear boots up but have only scuffed the polished layer and never done any damage to the leather or boot. Once the boots have that shiny outer shell it only takes a few minutes to fill in the scuff marks and have them looking brand new. The pictures are how the look after 6 months and I am confident they will look like this for at least another year.

Got these to replace a pair of Wolverine FloorHands as the waterproof liner just made my feet sweat too much. These Timberlines did what I wanted, and my feet breath a lot better and generally only sweat if I wear extra thick wool socks. The laces and the lace eyelets feel very robust and look like they can take a beating and should last a couple years before replacement. The leather is thick and very hard, which is kindof a con as you have to actually break in the boots by only using them a couple hours per day with days off in between. Note, I did not use any boot grease to soften the leather so things could have been different. In boots I’m a 12 and these fit me perfectly with just the amount of toe wiggle room without becoming too big. The rubber sole feels like it’s anti-slip as I do it slip as easy when walking on concrete with clay soil stuck to my feet. However, the insoles are trash and provide near no cushioning. I have high arches and already have boot inserts so I used these here and the comfort level is night and day. There’s no way I could last a full workday in these boots with the stock insole, but with the custom insoles one I can wear them from sun up to sun down. It should be mentioned that for whatever reason, under the insole and in the area where you heel sits in the boot is covered in very hard plastic. I guessing this plastic is to cover the nail heads that attach the sole to the rubber outsole. Regardless of its purpose, this plastic cover directly transfer the load between the heel of your foot and the ground without any shock absorptions. I took a small jump 3 feet off a ladder with maybe 25lbs of tools in my hand and felt like I nearly broke the heels in both of my feet. I can stand in these boots just fine, but don’t think they would be good for long walking distances due to this hard plastic thing. One final note, you absolutely need socks that will go to at least the top of the boot. The tongue has tendency to slide to the side which exposes the upper eyelets that tend to dig into your leg. In the end, I got these boots on sale for just a bit over $90, and I think they were worth it at that price…they appear to be quality boots that should last a long time. ——————————— 11 month update————————————- The boots have held up decently while being used on average 6.5 days a week in a construction environment. It’s extremely dusty where I’m at so keeping the leather clean is a bore such that I tend to go months between cleanings and has likely been a contributor to the damages. The laces failed at 10 months…the fabric and the manner in how they are put together seams to attract dirt very easy and tend to retain that dirt even through washing. The leather upper stitches have held up remarkably well, and there’s only 5 areas where they have broken. However, there’s around 3 inches of damages to the threads on the welt to rubber sole on both boots…the busted stitches occurred on different locations on the left and right boots. There’s several cuts and scrapes in the leather and I even hit one side with an box cutter knife, however none of the cuts went all the way through the leather and no water infiltrates in when wet. With the sole inserts, I can and do spent 9 plus hours in these boots without any issues at all with the only limit being moisture level. While the boots are not as sealed as water proof boots, they do retain some level of moisture too the degree that running shoes do while exercising. On the right boot, it looks like I kicked something too hard and the leather above and just forward of my toe has collapsed which tens to rub the uppers of my foot. When they boots finally kick the dust, I will absolutely be buying another set for I think the value for the price is worth it. ——————————— 13 month update————————————- The boots are still working, but are really showing signs of use. Most of the stitching on the welt is torn or really chaffed. Numerous stitching on the leather upper and heel sections are worn through. Both toe boxes have 1/2 to1 inch crease/dents near the tip that seam impossible to remove. The leather looks worn and could probably use some boot grease. The rubber sole has some small checks in the rubber, but the boots are still near water proof and didn’t leak while standing in 2-3 inches of water/clay mud mixture. However, despite all the blemishes the boots are still holding together, and are still unbelievably comfortable with my sole inserts. As the end looks like it’s starting to come near an end (a lot of busted stitching), I ended up buying a replacement pair during Black Friday sales to keep on hand for when these boots finally hit the dust. For the time being, I’m still on the original pair and will use them until they are completely spent. Given the dusty/muddy construction environment I’ve been working in, these boots have really held up well for the price. ——————————— 15 month update————————————- Surprisingly the books are still working! We ended up having some flooding with clay mud and the boots held up meh due to their now lack loss of water resistance…only used 1 day before temporary swapping in the new set for a couple days. After the flood, I went back to using the original boots and they are still doing good in cold temps in a dusty environment. The tread is still there but getting really worn down to almost nothing in some parts. The rubber welt is showing more checks than before but so far hasn’t busted all the the way through. The bottom rubber has lost nearly all of the extra rubber details (grey covered rubber pieces for added grip). The leather around mid sole to the toe is horrendously dried out. I eventually decided to do another wash with saddle soap and apply some more boot grease to the leather. At 15 months the boots look extremely worn out like they are going to die any minute, but there’s still chugging alone with 6 days a week usage on the job. ——————————— 17 month update————————————- It’s finally time to say these boots are done. The cushion is completely gone. The tread only has at best a 1/16 or an inch left. The numerous cracks in the welt and rubber sole allow water to seep in when walking through sole height puddles. The leather looks cracked and weather on the upper and side of the toe box so much so that boot grease no longer does anything. The boots are done and I’m finally swapping in the new pair. All in all these boots have held up really well and I absolutely plan on rebuying another pair.

I just received my new pair of Timberland work boots today and, even though I haven’t broken them in yet, they already feel predictably solid—no surprise given that these are my fourth pair from Timberland in a similar style. The leather is smooth and hefty, with even stitching and robust hardware that matches the durability I’ve come to rely on from the brand. The packaging was neat and protective, and the boots slipped out of the box with that reassuring weight I know will stand up to tough workdays. In past pairs, the footbed molded comfortably to my arch after just a few wears, and I expect the same quick break-in time this time around. Based on my experience, I anticipate these boots will live up to Timberland’s reputation for waterproof reliability and all-day comfort on the job.

Since 1985 the only work boots on my feet (24X7) were Red Wing boots. After having issues with my local Red Wing dealer I decided to try another kind of boot. After wearing these Timberland PRO boots all day long since April 7th while working on the family farm, I am very pleased with the fit and comfort of these boots. I quickly replaced the foam insoles with Dr. XXXX Massaging Gel insoles and now my feet feel like I am walking on soft pillows. At the end of the work day, my feet feel good after pulling the boots off. I read a lot of reviews on Amazon.com about these boots and on the inside of the tongue, I too have a small gap like another reviewer stated. I will put a dab of silicone in there to seal up the gap and the boots will do just fine. These boots are 1/3 the price of my Red Wing, Union made boots and I am satisfied in the short time I have been wearing them. To help the leather soften up before wearing them for the first time I applied 2 coats of Obenauf's Leather Preservative on them and my break-in period has been very easy. In Red Wings my dealer had me wearing 15M for years but I always told them the boots were loose on my feet. After being tired of loose boots I had them recheck and found out that I should have been wearing 15B boots. In my first order on Amazon I found out that 15M Timberland Pro boots were too big and sloppy. I exchanged the boots for 14M Timberland Pro boots and I am now very comfortable wearing these. I bought the boots to wear for work. I work at an automotive dealership as a service tech and deal a lot with fluids. There are always oil or water on the floor. These boots held up pretty well for me and I have never slipped & fall or lost my balance while wearing them while stepping on wet surfaces. It is a bit narrow but not punishing on my feet. They are light but very well made. I think the material will hold up for a long time and many uses. I couldn't find the soft-toe version of the boot anywhere except on Amazon, and I wanted the soft-toe ones and not the steel-toe ones. Why I cannot give it 5 stars and what I don't like about it is: 1) The boot gets scuffed up pretty easy and leaves a streaky mark on the shoe. 2) The shape of the boots are not perfectly matched. In other words, the left boot has more of a curve by the toe thumb then the right side on its outer sole. If you put them on and look down at the boots, the left side boot has more curvy contour on it on the outer sole by your toe thumb, whereas the right side boot has more of a straighter curve on its outer sole. 3) Inside my left boot by the ankle area, there is some hard metal-like piece of material there and it is pushing on my ankle bone and I can feel it. It is stuck inside the cushion and the stitching and I cannot remove it unless I cut it open. The right side does not have any of that hard metal object there by the ankle area. What could it be?? A piece of eyelet that was accidentally stitched into the boot during manufacturing? It's not too bad because I wear socks so I don't really feel it. 4) My right side boot looks like it has been test-worn by someone. Right out of the box, I notice it had scuff marks around the shoe, but it's really minor and not really noticeable... Overall, the boots are great and comfortable, and is the color I was expecting and liked. Would I recommend these boots...? I do, but if the unmatched shape of the shoes bothers you, I'd look at a different pair of boots...
