100pcs Disposable Filter Bags for Loose Tea

These are the perfect addition to my office tea stash. I started drinking tea made with loose leaves at home several years ago, and I much prefer the flavor of the loose leaves. However, I used tea in bags at the office since it was much easier to make and clean up at my desk. I then went on a hunt for empty tea bags when a couple of different friends told me that they were a thing. I found these, and the reviews indicated people were happy with them. Having used them for about a week now, I have to say I completely agree with other reviewers. These are great, and perfect for making a cup of tea. I have used black tea and green tea in them. The green tea does expand quite a bit, so I wouldn't add more than a teaspoon of dry tea to the bag. You may think that you have room for more tea in the bag since it will barely fill a third of the bag, but you don't. If you were going to use these to make a pot of tea for several people, I would use one bag for each person instead of using just one bag for the pot and trying to stuff more than a teaspoon of tea in one bag.

If/when one finally learns how to close these bags properly, they work just fine. I understand the frustration of those who have not yet mastered the closing process, and I, too, learned hard way. Read The Directions!! Otherwise, these self-service tea bags work just fine. I've bought a few more packs for myself and ordered some for a few friends as well. Folks always ask, "how much dry to use per cup or pot?" with fluid volumes unknown, the question is impossible to answer. Do you want your tea to look like apple juice or very strong coffee? Will you wait through a 4 - 6 minute steeping period, or do you want it NOW? It is up to you. Using these user-filled tea bags and 190-200F water, I *usually* get excellent results with one 'scant' teaspoon of dry tea per 6-8 Oz. cup of waster - in a preheated 3+cup pot kept warm. Ritual and formal rules? Heck no! That's just how I do it. These bags are not really necessary; you can pour your brewed tea through a piss-elegant tea strainer, just like the elderly English women do, but it is not necessary. If you are anything close to the curmudgeon that I am, easy preparation of good tea is important. In the end, anyone who uses loose tea should be using these simple 'tea bags.' I do not understand how anyone can make great tea withouot these little bags, but you can try. In the world ok kitched/cooking/beverage gear, this has to be one of the world's great treasures. (Lipton - or similar - may have invented the tea bag, but what goes inside is far more important. These bags give the sipper a choice. Heck Yes!! -C. I have been using these tea bags for almost three years now and will not turn to any other brand. I love them for their ease of use and durability. I will let them air dry and reuse the tea leaves in them and my tea always turns out great. I have never had an issue with leaves leaking from the bag even though it is a fold top. The material used is ideal because when the tea leaves absorb the water and expand, the leaves push the folds together to create a nice seal in the hot water. Also the price cannot be beat.Great Value

These teabags are very good and performed well. There was a "leak" in one of the bags, but it was a matter of stress and nothing wrong with the bag. When I poured the hot water directly onto the bag, it couldn't withstand the force of the water and some of the tea came out of the bag. However, I think if I had been more careful to get the folded bag out of the way of the water, it would have been fine. There were other bags in the same pot (I was making it extra strong) and they held fine. Overall, I like them. They are not perfect, but they are really very good and you don't need staples or anything else to make tea - it's quick and easy. A good product.

I like these bags for 4 reasons. 1. I save money buying bulk herbs which is extremely cheap, and all I have to do is use a teaspoon to pour the herbs in the bag. I can even make my own tea formulas using several types of herbs. 2. Bags have a nice bottom that opens out, that makes the bag stand up, kinda like a paper bag does, so I can easily add the herbs with a teaspoon. 3. Top folds over like a sandwich platic baggie does, so the herbs remain in the tea bag. 4. Good value for the money I have not had a problem with the herbs escaping the bag as another reviewer has complained about. At least not to any noticable concern. Maybe it is because I lay the bag on its side, on the bottom of the tea cup with the opening of the flap down, and pour the hot water over it. I do not add the dry tea bag to the full cup of hot water, causing small dry particles to float out of the flap before the herbs get a chance to get wet.

Love these! I use it also for spices or additives to soups etc - as well instead of tying a sashay. Even used for making coffee in a steeper.

Except for the material, these are fantastic filters. On the plus side they have a very fine cloth-like mesh, they do a good job at keeping the leaves in the bag, and they have a nice wide opening for easy filling. But they are not paper. They are made of polyester (a.k.a. plastic). You can't throw these in your compost or expect them to degrade anywhere -- they have to be tossed in the trash. Read the caution statement on the back of the packaging (as seen in product images) to get a sense of their safety. And then that raises concerns for me about what material I'm soaking in my hot drinks. I wish they made a good paper version of these filters.

Exactly what I've been looking for all these years (though I didn't know it). I absolutely love these bags! I've gone through many, many tea infusers over the years, and have yet to find one that actually fulfilled its promise of not letting stray bits of tea out into the wild of my tea mug. I recently purchased a new batch of loose leaf tea that I was advised was extremely fine, and started the search for a new infuser with even smaller holes than my last. When Amazon suggested I take a look at these filter bags, I was dubious, but at less than $5 for 100, it seemed like it was worth a gamble. So happy I decided to try them! They're easy to use - just spoon the tea in and fold the top cover over. They do their job - not even the tiniest bit of tea has escaped into my cup. You can even throw out the tea and rinse & reuse the bags a couple of times if you're trying not to be too wasteful. I adore these so much that they're now on my Christmas list for a couple of my favorite fellow tea lovers!

Nice for my use

I've been looking for disposable tea bags like this for ages! They are the fold over pocket type, and I think they hold tea better than the drawstring type and are a lot easier to use than the sealable ones. They are a nylon like material and hold tea well and don't seem to fall apart at all. Prices seem to fluctuate though, and I got these for £3 delivered from one seller, and wouldn't pay the roughly £20 they are now!

Great filters for travel, at home or work. I usually make some up with tea leaves and take them with me as I travel for work. Love them.
