Impossible Sizing
I bought this anti-pollution filter mask and scarf specifically for airplane travel as I am acutely aware of the petrol fumes in cabin air which cause aerotoxic syndrome and wanted something that would help with the headaches, without being too conspicuous. The write-up on this product made it sound like the perfect solution, even though it seemed pricier than other options.I can't fault the quality of the mask construction, however the fit was absolutely dreadful for my face. The mask pinched the bridge of my nose and pushed my jaw down, such that within the first 30 minutes, my face ached and I had to take it off. The velcro straps were pretty easy to adjust and I did try multiple times to get the placement to a comfortable position. It didn't work and the only thing I succeeded in doing was ripping one of the positioning anchors on the scarf. The other problem with the scarf was getting it to sit below my eyeline, whilst still covering up the mask. The mask did do a fair job of filtering the air, although the smell of charcoal was unpleasant and the heat and humidity build up was much greater than anticipated. All said and done this was a very expensive experiment for me and it would have served me far better to try something with sizing options. The potential for this type of product is tremendous, but I am left feeling like I paid to be a guinea pig for a design that needs a lot more work.

fits closely and stops most of condensation
This mask was a present for my wife. She likes it, it provides a good fit with no/hardly any air coming through the side. The filter seems to work well and does not impair breathing. Possibly it will get a bit hot in the summer, but currently all fine.Cons: the way the scarf attaches to the mask is fiddly and not very well designed. Also, costs for the filter will mount up of course, but that's the price to pay for an active filter.
