I've never seen such a hefty beefy lock in my life. I have great confidence in this lock.

Very excellent quality as you would expect from Brinks!! Nice and thick and strong and easy to lock and unlock. I doubt anybody would be able to cut through it, at least not quickly anyway!

Heavy duty, secures bike to the car rack with an appropriate length of bike cable. Feel comfortable traveling with the bike knowing it will be there when I get back from a stop during ravels

Seems like a solid lock. Nice recognizable brand so you hope its a good deterrent. Hopefully a some low life crook sees it and moves on

Surprisingly for me (I never heard about the Brinks brand), these locks are manufactured by Hampton products, a California-based company. I did not check where the lock is actually made, and now the packaging is already thrown away. It is a rather small lock (fits into the palm of my hand) and is relatively light (let's say, lighter than I expected - which made me wonder what metal it is made of, and how much metal is under the blue silicone coating). The size is adequate to use it with a bicycle security cable or a chain. Some people wrote in their reviews that this lock is hard to lock and unlock, I got two of these locks and found just the opposite to be true - it locks and unlocks very smoothly with no effort. Regarding security, I am not an expert in assessing lock security, but I can tell that it has a tubular lock (comes with two keys). This is a type of key which is used in all low end bicycle locks and, to my non-professional understanding, is considered a fairly low security type of lock which is easier to pick than more complex types of locks. Of course, there is no lock which cannot be opened or broken by a skilled thief; locks in this price range must be on the easy side for a pro to open, but at least it is a theft deterrent. It is labelled "water resistant", but not waterproof, if that matters. So, probably, it is not designed for a full time outdoor use if they lock is exposed to rain on a regular basis.

Wow! This lock is heavy duty and just plain heavy! Easy to use. I ended up buying 2 for my bike rack in a truck.

This lock looks and feels very solid, and I guess for most uses it would probably be okay. It has a tubular 7 pin lock, that I picked in about 3 minutes the first time and about 1.5 minutes the second time. I bought this to use for locksport practice, and for that purpose it taught me what I needed to learn, and along the way I learned that looks can be deceiving...LOL

Bought this to lock up my bike. Perfect portable size, won't lock without the key in place, heavy-duty. Does the job nicely.
