This product worked great for me and as well, probably better than the name brand or even prescription hydrocortisone suppositories. Yeah, they’re a little difficult to open on occasion, but bending the tabs in half helped with that. A few had a few little crumbs broken off but not like many of the other reviews. I will definitely order more if I ever need them again. I haven’t had issues since using these though.

This vasoconstrictor suppository works and is very cost-effective. It is harder shell than one by name brand, but I have used all suppositories with a bit of lotion on the tip. The lotion/oil/vaseline makes insertion much easier. I have used the suppository successfully after cleansing. Ensure that the suppository is "pulled" up indicating right placement. Just have to sit/wait for 1-2 mins for the butter to melt inside. Wipe off any excess that might come down. There will be pain relief a few minutes after. The blood vessels will take a few mins to begin constricting due to phenylephrine. Here is one way to increase its effectiveness. Your procedure might vary.... (see pic for all the aux items) 1. Use wet tissue as wetted with with few drops of water or witch hazel. 2. Finally wet tissue with witch hazel and put as close to inflamed hems. Close the crack slowly sliding out your fingers. Leave in the issue 30s to 1 min. Remove tissue. 3. Open suppository. Prime tip with hand lotion or 1 drop of oil. Insert as comfortable to you until it is "pulled" up. Wait for 1-2 mins for it to settle/melt. 4. If any excess wipe off. Apply coconut oil or vaseline. Wipe excess so that it will not stain clothing... 5. If time permits, apply the calamine ointment (can repeat) or phenylephrine ointment (once only). Note that phenylephrine should not be used more than 3x. It is a vasoconstrictor (shrinks blood vessels). 6. After 10 mins or before heading out, you may optionally use Anusol suppository, as needed. This is zinc oxide that coats the tissues (remember diaper rash cream). 7. Do Sitz bath (warm water, +witch hazel alcohol-free if available) 3-4x a day. You can use a bucket or any wide pan. Just remember that ointment with calamine (it is zinc) can be used any time but not phenylephrine. Same applies for Anusol (zinc) vs phenylephrine suppositories. Several of the steps can be done out of order, find which works best for you. Keeping the hems from getting inflamed is key. Keep the suppositories below or at room temp. These Neilmed suppositories are priced right.

This is is not a good product. It is difficult almost impossible to get the unit out of the packaging. Every unit is a different size, they are misshapen and pointed not rounded (ouch) and they break easily. Did not provide itch relief in fact exacerbated the itching! I will not buy again. Spend the extra money and get a Prep-H product

I used Preparation H suppositories before these and they were easier to apply. These ones, on the other hand, are good because they don't turn into oil after insertion. They are more difficult/uncomfortable to insert, but they create a layer around the rectal canal, which seems to be much more effective in facilitating evacuation. Not to mention that they don't leak, unlike the other one, which leaks oil every time you sit down. I gave it 4 stars because it could have a more ergonomic shape for application.
