The best Nerf Sword of all time? Could be; the Legend returns.
This is a foam sword by Nerf that was made quite some time ago. I am pleased that Nerf has decided to sell them again. The foam is more dense than the newer generations of Nerf’s foam swords. Typically the only place to get a Marauder melee weapon was on eBay, which is where I bought my used one. The price tag was already in the 45 dollar range and you had to deal with the merchant’s additional shipping charges. Had I known that it would be available on Amazon, I would have waited a few years to purchase it here. I think this sword is the hefty and has a good threat range. The length is about 40 and 1/2 inches. The hilt is 10 inches. The cross guard 8 inches wide. It is modeled after a 2-handed sword, but since it is made of foam... what-evs. The core takes up a considerable amount of room in the blade, going almost all the way to the tip. This imbues the sword with rigidity, but also makes it hurt more with rough-housing. The new warning label is printed on the blade, suggesting that the user “CAUTION: Do not hit or swing at people or animals, use away from breakable objects. TO AVOID INJURY: Discontinue use if core is exposed.” This fine print is different on my old used red Marauder, which reads “CAUTION: Do not poke or jab at people or animals. Use away from breakable objects.” These are both good guidelines to follow for a fun day of pretend play. Now that I have a new Marauder, I realize that it had much more detail when it was new. There is golden trim painted on it. I can barely see traces of it on my old sword which has since rubbed off (prior to me receiving it). I assume the new sword will eventually start cracking like my old sword is. There are stress marks and cracks near the rain guard (the part where the blade meets the cross guard), and the tip is worn clear off to the point (no pun intended) that the core is exposed. It I was able to tape a trimmed sponge on with duct tape to give it some padding. The point is (pun intended) that I had no intention of throwing this away, but I wanted to be safe when my family and young friend in our community used it. In conclusion, this is more of a collector’s item than a toy sword. But it is designed well and is well-built. I believe it is hands-down the best toy sword Nerf has ever released. Perhaps the best of all time. I predict that it’s price will go up shortly, so it is best to secure your order now before it is too late.

Stronger, better sized for our personal use
Unlike the Vantage N-Force sword, the Marauder is a sturdier and larger counterpart which is much better suited for two hands. The foam on these is of much better quality than the other ones, and these have lasted much longer than the Vantage, with the only damage to it being that on one of them, the handle can detach from the blade, after a decent bit of pulling on the blade. Overall, these swords are much better suited for an older audience, and can take quite a beating.

What? You don't have one already?!!
This Long Sword is the BEST! Excellent heft, great range, just a badass Nerf sword waiting to take on all comers! My kids had several of these during the first iteration years ago and they lasted for years (including a tip getting knocked off, having a dowel rod re-enforce the core, and the tip being duct taped back on--that works reaaaaally well!) I needed one for my ownself and now, evil doers beware!

Great quality, can be painful
So....i didn't realize how heavy and ultra strong and powerful this would be compared to another nerf sword we had. I'd say minimum age on this should be 8, for responsibility and ability to safely yield this sword. Beware parents, this one HURTS when struck in knight battles.

A sturdy, larger-than-normal Nerf sword
Our teenager has been beating the holy fire out of everything — in the house and outside — in the six weeks or so since he received this sword, and it has yet to show a bit of wear. It's a unique sword, made by Nerf, and worth every penny.

No Excalibur, but it’ll do
I bought two of them. The feel great and have a little heft to them. They’re super sturdy and kids remind of me Link’s sword. I would purchase more for gifts. They’re pretty cool.

Good foam sword
Since it has arrived it has been beaten against a tree, dropped, flipped, used to defend against a child berserker, and just abused. In spite of all of that it's still works and looks great. It's a bit too springy but it does what is intended.

Great
This sword is so much fun. Bought two and have already had hours of battles. They are a little big for my boys who are 3 and 5, but they have plenty of time to grow into them and have been enjoying them

A Nerf cult classic, the one with yellow hilt is quite common. A great buy if it's on sale, but I wouldn't pay $70 for it. Warning: this has a pretty solid core, and not exactly for young children. Parents should give it a whirl first and possibly instruct kids how not to use it based on their own opinion.
