We live on a barrier island in Florida where the ocean spray will wreak havoc on all metal. We are 7yrs in on these hinges and they are still operational. The spring close worked for 5 years but they’re showing their age now. Very pleased they lasted this long.

As described and speedy arrival

The hinges perfectly fit, match our existing hinges, and close the door nicely.

For the marginal cost of a stainless pin and roll pin, one would think "stainless" hinges would have such components. These do not. While the leaves are stainless as are the bottom and top pins, the roll pin, the hinge set pin, and the spring are not. And there is no reason these components would need to be plain steel (or spring steel) vs. corrosion-resistant stainless.Of the set of two that I received, it was immediately clear that corrosion was already at work on one of the hinges: the bag showed rust.I disassembled the hinge to see how it was constructed, and a LOT of crud came out (see photo). The top bearing is a single plastic washer with inner teeth (that don't seem to have any function), and the bottom comprises three smooth, thin plastic washers. Those three plastic washers bear the entire load of the hinge. The roll pin was clearly quite corroded. A magnet discloses the plain steel composition of it, as well as the (clean) spring pin that gets inserted once the hinge is installed and tension set. The top and bottom hinge pins (if that's what they're called) that engage the spring and hold the leaves together are stainless, and have a 2-part plastic bushing. Machining on all the parts is mediocre at best. Just not clean and accurate.While it's simple to replace the steel roll and spring pins with stainless parts myself, the spring itself will not be. My application for these is an outdoor fence gate, and therefore will be exposed to weather. There doesn't appear to be a way to seal the hinge's internal spring, and so I'll be returning these and continuing to search for a suitable hinge.

4 of them worked perfect the other 2 had striped Allen set holes so the could no be adjusted correctly. Yes I would purchase them if needed. Thank you Lawrence Lankford

These hinges were a perfect solution. Our Church elevator traverses 3 floors. It stopped working when the link to close the middle floor door stopped the mechanism from working. We got a bid of $7,000 to repair it.I used your spring hinges to close the door and it is working now.

The media could not be loaded. I installed these hinges on two opposing doors for a double door gate. The play was so extreme that the doors were no longer plumb...literally leaning at an angle. I notified the seller about 40 days after purchase, but they claimed I was past the 30 day return period. Technically this is true, but I was not asking for a return because I "changed my mind"...these hinges have so much slop that they are truly unusable. I now feel I was swindled out of $128 for 6 hinges, because this product is unacceptably loose for a standard door install. Do not buy.I later purchased another set from another seller on Amazon and those hinges worked like a charm - no slop and a perfect door installation. Same exact doors and hole positions.
