Soundcore Sleep A20 Set by Anker, Sleep Earbuds with Comfortable Ear Tips

If you’re looking for a pair of sleep earbuds that truly deliver on comfort and battery life, the Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds by Anker are a standout choice. I’ve worn them all night, even as a side sleeper, and they’re so comfortable I often forget they’re in my ears. The battery life is impressive-easily lasting through the night (and then some), so you don’t have to worry about them dying before your alarm goes off. One of my favorite features is the configurable EQ in the Soundcore app, which lets you tweak the sound signature to your liking. There’s a preset that softens loud noises and balances the sound, which is perfect for narrated audio or podcasts I like to fall asleep to. The built-in library of white noise and nature sounds is another plus, and you can even save a selection directly to the earbuds, so you don’t need your phone nearby or worry about notifications waking you up. On the downside, I found the touch controls a bit too sensitive-they’d sometimes trigger accidentally as I moved in my sleep. Thankfully, you can disable them, which I did since I keep my phone close for any media or volume adjustments anyway. If there’s one thing I’d love to see in a future version, it’s active noise cancellation. I know that’s a tall order in such a tiny and comfortable form factor, but it would be a game changer for blocking out even more ambient noise. Overall, the Soundcore Sleep A20 Earbuds are a fantastic investment if you value a good night’s sleep and want a customizable, comfortable, and reliable solution for bedtime audio. On site note: If you're having trouble making an account in the app, it might be because you had a Eufy account at some point. Apparently Anker and Eufy share the same authentication system, so if you have one, you have both. That was my only pain point in setting up the device, and caused me to scratch my head for a few.

These are comfortable to wear while sleeping, even as a side sleeper. They fit well-enough that they’d be great for exercise too. They are small, and don’t go into the ear canal like many earbuds (part of why I got these), they kind if rest just outside and they stay put because of the squishy (but sturdy) earbud stabilizers. Sound quality is decent and they block outside sound well. They connect easily to my iPhone and to my iPad. Really worth the price for me. The color is meh, but not that important (to me). The carrying case is cute and has a nice shape. However, if you are trying to open and close it quietly in the night, it’s really hard to maneuver and the chances of dropping it are high unless I’m really really careful . It’s pretty slippery and tricky even in the daylight. It has another feature that may matter to folks: if you double tap on one of the buds when it in your ear, a lady’s voice says “music mode” to play your own content, then “sleep mode” and they play rain sounds.

I suffer from tinnitus which can get loud at times and makes sleep difficult. I've tried many, many earbuds advertised for sleep. These earbuds were a godsend. You can download white noise onto the earbuds themselves and the battery lasts 12 hours or more in Sleep mode (not Bluetooth). They are very comfortable and since I only need it for one side when sleeping, I can use the other side in the day time for my bad tinnitus days and still be able to use my AirPods max as well as have CarPlay in my car without connecting directly to the earbuds. This is my second pair because after a recent firmware update, the earbuds were not charging to a 100% and battery life seemed much diminished. I reached out to Anker and they sent me a replacement which actually seem to work even better. Anker really makes good quality products at a great price and support is outstanding.

This new (for Soundcore) “Sleep A20” earbud product tries to do two things at once and boy, did they get it wrong. Loyal customers like me shelled out $170+ to be early adopters of Bluetooth earbuds we could listen to during the day using our mobile devices, and then at night fall asleep to, their soft eartips not falling out or keeping us wake. We had the option of listening to soothing sounds offline, with no Bluetooth connection to our devices, but as it turned out, that aspect of the product did not work for me. Which would have been okay, except that whenever I fired these things up, I did not know whether they were going to behave like regular Bluetooth earbuds, or start up in their offline, soothing-sounds version. If the second, I’d need to run the Soundcore app in an attempt to persuade the buds to connect via Bluetooth. Good luck with that! Usually they stubbornly refused and I was left in earbud limbo. Over time the prospect of tussling for a quarter-hour with my earbuds at bedtime had a discouraging effect, and in the end I stopped using them altogether. But not for lack of trying! I was aware there’s a way to switch between Bluetooth and sleep-sound modes using the buds’ touch-sensitive buttons. But due to the extra-soft eartip material, those buttons were difficult to detect. As the user guide cautioned, quite a strong tap might be needed to get my intentions across. And, icing on the cake, the voice confirming I was now in Bluetooth mode often refused to give me any news whatever. This product’s fatal flaw could so readily have been eliminated. All they had to do was have the buds default to Bluetooth mode whenever the user removed them from their case. In other words, have them work exactly like all the other Bluetooth earbuds out there. But no-o-o. Whenever I removed the A20s from their case I had to go into my iPhone’s Bluetooth device list to see whether they had connected automatically. If they hadn’t, I put them back into their case and go through the process again. If again no success, I’d have to delete the A20s from my iPhone’s list of devices and then re-pair them. Laborious and frustrating, yes, but as I was to discover, preferable to being consigned to the mercies of the Byzantine Soundcore app. Before I discovered re-pairing was my least-worst option, I’d run the Soundcore app and be informed it was unable to connect with its own earbuds. I’d go into the Bluetooth device list and my iPhone would show two sets of A20 earbuds, each differently named, competing for connection and ending in a stalemate with neither online. I am not making this up! Usually, when I could not achieve a Bluetooth link upon up removing the buds from their case, the Soundcore app would stubbornly remain offline. By this time I was pretty fed up. Any Bluetooth earbud product, whatever its sleep-enhancing qualities, MUST be available for Bluetooth connection with the mobile products, cell phone or tablet, to which it has it has already been paired — WITHOUT the intervention of a third-party app. I mean, this is Mobile Tech 101! My experience writing user docs for mobile hardware and software developers suggests there is no way this novel product could have withstood a couple weeks’ worth of beta testing. The sleep element of the app was bewildering in its complexity and not well explained — a sure sign some bright spark in the coding department had ordained himself as himself as the end users’ Guiding Light. The problem with communicating with your users, I’d have said to him, is that the messaging needs to go both ways. Now the point has passed for me to try beaching the divide between me and this developer. Faith has been broken. That this faulty product has been prematurely withdrawn from retail sale and replaced with a much cheaper successor, with no offer to compensate the original’s owners, indicates a management culture where big mistakes get made and then are not acknowledged in the hope they fade away. This is start-up behavior. I’d wager this division of industry-respected Anker has in the not-distant past undergone a management change and now the price of their failure must be paid by its most loyal customers. Such a breach of etiquette toward paying customers, and not the overpriced and disfunctional Sleep A20 earbuds, is why, despite having owned several Soundcore products in the past, I am forced to abide by that old maxim: “Fool me once, your fault. Fool me twice, mine.” Their management actions leave me no choice but, in future, to buy my earbuds from a different source.

I hardly ever write reviews but here is the rare exception. I work a rotating swing shift that has given me severe shift work sleep disorder.I've spent 20 years buying every crackpot hairbrained product to try to help me get a little sleep. My go to was acoustic sleep , a fine product about half the price as the A-20. The acoustic sleep has one fatal flaw, it has no passive noise reduction, you hear ambient noise that's louder than the device but that's due to its product design. I almost didn't give the A-20 a chance because I wanted active noise reduction...man am I glad I did. As a side sleeper these things are comfortable and don't fall out while I sleep, but the biggest draw is the combination of excellent passive noise reduction and whatever sounds you like to sleep to ( for me its rain) . They do an exceptional job of insulating me in the sounds of the thunderstorm , isolating me from the outside world.I have 3 college young men upstairs and they run across their apartment a lot, I cant hear them or most ambient sounds with my A-20s.( I guess when they throw a party that will be the big test) I haven't even explored the many features of the app, first nite I went simple with one of the loadable sounds ( thunderstorm) and I was amazed how well they worked...Im happy with that . They are a little pricey but after the first night I realized what a great value they are. (Customer service is fast also.) 2nd week updated...you have to keep these buds clear/clean of earwax or they will not work. My left bud stopped working. I examined it to find a ear wax buildup on the mike/speaker on the inside of the bud.After cleaning all was well. Im still happy 1 month update..I love them BUT they need cleaning every week. Its a reasonable tradeoff 2 month review no problems and i still love them

I’ve had these sleep earbuds for about 8 months. The included sounds are great, they’re also customizable. I like that it has an alarm you hear through the earbuds. Connectivity is the biggest issue for me. I haven’t even had them a year yet and they constantly disconnect from the app. After less than 10 minutes they will disconnect and I have to close the app and reopen it. Often time that doesn’t work the 1st time. I have to do it multiple times and even have to put them in the case several times before they’re recognized again. They’re comfortable, but since I wear them every night, I’ve noticed the cover has stretched out and they don’t fit as well anymore.

So I was mostly looking for ear buds that were comfortable enough to sleep in as I am a side sleeper and also wanted something to last the night. I had tried multiple less expensive brands, but they were difficult to get to sleep mode and none lasted a full night. I decided to research and these came highly recommended. Ok, I splurged. And they are worth every penny. Comfortable beyond my hopes, with different tips including ones that allow the ear to breathe a bit. I like the sound. There is an app used to control it, and it even can play sleep sounds and if you want it can wake you. But I was fascinated by it's sleep tracking ability and it's surprisingly accurate and I am using it every day as part of an overall picture of my health. And as for battery life...it still has plenty when I wake up. I love it! The only time I had issues, I had to reset it and the button is near the usb port and a little hard to see, but it reset and cleared the problem easily. 10/10 would buy again. This is 6 was after purchase.

These are honestly overpriced. They don’t really cancel out any noise unless you have your volume at or near max. The noise cancelling works better when using the in-app audios they provide. However, the app SUCKS. I woke up several times because the earphones would disconnect from the app and would require that I connect them again to get them working. They work best on Bluetooth mode - which, by the way, requires that you delete the app because otherwise, they’ll randomly disconnect from Bluetooth mode and connect to the app instead - but Bluetooth mode doesn’t offer nearly the same level of “noise cancelling” the in-app audios give. These are severely overpriced and over-recommended. Their best feature? They’re insanely comfortable, especially for someone like me who sleeps on their side. But paying $200 after taxes and shipping doesn’t justify them being comfortable. Two stars for being comfortable for sleep. Everything else is meh. Wish there was a more affordable option.

Loop di lunghezza sufficiente a non far avvertire la ripetizione, senza elementi riconoscibili; quelli delle Bose duravano pochi secondi ed avevano elementi distintivi, per cui era inevitabile accorgersi del loop, cosa estremamente distraente quando si cerca di addormentarsi. Trasferimento dei loop sugli auricolari in meno di un minuto; con le Bose ce ne volevano dieci. Quattro loop precaricabili; nelle Bose solo uno. Grande autonomia, dopo una notte gli auricolari in modalità standalone sono ancora al 70%; le Bose arrivavano con fatica alle otto ore. Comandi locali (volume, stop, cambio loop) tramite tap; con le Bose ci voleva l'app per qualunque operazione. Comode e altamente personalizzabili: 4 misure per l'elemento interno e 3 per l'aletta che va nel padiglione dell'orecchio. Buon isolamento dai suoni esterni. Infine funzionano non solo in modalità standalone, ma anche come cuffie bluetooth standard, quindi per musica, podcast etc. Insomma consigliatissime.

Los considero de un valor inmenso cuando estoy en un vecindario ruidoso. Tienen sus fallas, mi último par se desarmó, pero no he quitado una estrella porque cuando funcionan, son los mejores y valen cada centavo.

These are very good sleep buds. They take a little getting used to, the app is a little odd, but once you get used to it, it's easy to use. Take heed of their play time, Bluetooth paired you'll get 6-8 hours, "sleep mode" (unpairs and uses their in built in and customisable sounds) gets 8-10 hours. No noise cancelling so snorers still break through. These almost rely on being earplugs like. For side sleepers these can get a little bit uncomfortable if you have a hard pillow. But generally these are comfortable and tuck into your ear quite nicely. I've had to have these warrantied twice, 1 for poor battery life, Anker replaced after a few emails, second one the left bud battery swelled up and broke the case. Anker has replaced them both times with an exchange unit. I cannot fault Anker with this at all. I will get my use and currently justifying spending the same amount on their new A30 buds.
