Great gimbal for the money
This is my first gimbal of any kind, and I am very pleased with it. Took it on a trip to get some better quality videos out of my camera, and was not disappointed. I think this is a great value.Pros:- works as expected, keeping the camera steady while moving, walking and panning- quiet motors- excellent battery life- handy joystick for correcting / adjusting motion- phone app allows additional control of certain settings, e.g. how quickly the individual axes should converge to where you want the cam to be when panning (speed of "follow") etc.Cons:- manual is a bit skimpy, but contains enough info to get going- the design of the bracket holding the cam could be improved a little -- having to switch out a dead battery in a camera is not a fast process, and getting the bracket back on can be especially challenging (holding the gimbal, the cam and the bracket with one hand while trying to thread the screw into the bracket with the other hand -- there's gotta be an easier way)- turning the gimbal on or off takes several seconds of pressing and holding of the power switch; wish the switch was either a slider or simply worked fasterI made a mistake of assuming that the on-off switch doubles as a remote trigger for the camera (since it has a red dot painted on it), without verifying that it actually is one. Would be great if it were -- the manual makes no mention of it. If anyone knows how to get that button on the gimbal to work with e.g. a GoPro Hero 5/6 as a record button, do share! There is also an undocumented mini-USB port on the bracket. Having learned my lesson about assumptions, I'm *not* going to assume that it is for charging the cam from the gimbal while it is in use. If it is in fact for that, someone will have to point me to an adapter that is male mini-USB on one end and usb-C on the other.

Useless for GroPro Hero 5
For a Hero 5 this is unusable. You have to mount the camera with the lens adjacent to the gimbal, and doing this requires completely removing the mounting bracket. Once mounted, both the charging port and battery door are blocked. Thus, to swap batteries, you have to disassemble it, replace the battery, and reassemble it. And, the worst part: you cannot use the charging cable to keep the camera charged. For any serious amount of recording, this is a showstopper. Bad design. The 1 star on battery life is relative to the camera, not the gimbal.

This gimbal may not like me...
The media could not be loaded. My Problem:One or two of all three motors cannot work well (from the video, it may be the Pan Motor). The holder was rolling crazy when I first turn on the power button (check my video). The same thing kept happening after I several tries. Then, I tried the off-line calibration. But the problem was still there.Anyway, I want to return it and buy it one more time from the same company because the good price. I will know whether my luck is still bad or not.

Best bang for the buck, not splashproof
I also owned a Karma Gimbal, but returned it because it was too buggy, and the iSteady was a better design for my use.I mostly use this gimbal for recording bouldering with a GoPro. I mount the gimbal on the end of a large monopod so the camera can be lifted about 20' in the air. The gimbal keeps the camera nice and level. This means that I want a 1/4 20 lug on the bottom of the grip which this gimbal has, unlike the Karma gimbal. This gimbal can also stand up on its own unlike the Karma gimbal. The app is also neat, but I don't end up using it much.Battery life is excellent compared to the karma. The thumb screws can be a bit fiddly at first, but once you get used to them it's not bad.I broke it. It doesn't like salt water (duh). I was hanging it over the side of a boat at the end of the monopod. It took a decent size splash and the pitch axis died. I could feel heat from the axis cover and the grip. I saw no smoke at the time. Once I got it home I popped the cover off the side and pulled the axis controller board out. There is visible damage to the PCB and what's left of some component after letting the magic smoke out (I guess I just didn't see the smoke at the time). So I broke it. My fault.I still recommend this gimbal very highly. If you can keep it dry, at $99 it is an amazing gimbal. If you can't keep it dry, maybe you need a $200 gimbal.

Lots of problems, resolved by seller but still doesn't meet my needs using a Hero 7 Black.
I purchased this gimbal to use on a 6 day tour of Taiwan. When it worked, it was very good. However, it worked correctly for only a small percentage of the time. It constantly turned off while I was taking video, required rebalancing on a constant basis, and the power button is now pushed in. Unfortunately, it is already past my return period so I will have to contact the manufacturer to see if they will be willing to do anything to correct this situation.Updated 4/2/2019,Updated rating to 2 stars due to Pergear, the seller, reaching out to send a replacement free of charge. However, the gimbal itself still does not meet my needs ...I purchased it to use with a GoPro Hero 7 Black and an external microphone. Unfortunately, due to GoPro's poor design of needing an external adapter to connect an external microphone (not the gimbal's fault), the gimbal cannot handle the extra weight of the adapter mounted anywhere on the camera itself. In addition, the GoPro needs to be mounted against the motor (on the right side of the camera), which blocks access to the power/mode button...I believe this would also affect the Hero6 and Hero5 Blacks. This can be remedied by using the GoPro mobile app to control the camera. Another issue, I have not been able to get the Hohem mobile app installed on my phone to pair with the gimbal. I have been able to use the app installed on my 8 inch tablet though. I purchased all of the components of my setup to be usable with one hand but the setup in this configuration forces me to use the Hero 7 Black's internal microphone for audio, and in addition, I need to carry my 8 inch tablet to control both the camera and the gimbal. For me, this setup is not usable and I will be looking into other gimbals for my future needs.

Faulty
Hi I unboxed this item and tried using it on my gopro hero 7. It just will not stand upright the gimbal does not work and is faulty. I have tried calibrating it many times but all times with no success. Please refund or replace with one that works. Thanks.

Didn't last more than 3 hours
I really wish I waited until I could afford a real stabilizer. This unit worked great when I had it calibrated and fully charged. I am quite upset that it didn't last more than a total of 3 operational hours. I got it for music festivals. I was practising with it for a couple of weeks before so that I had some experience. When I got to the festival, I was able to bring it in past security which was a God-sent miracle. Most festivals I attend do not allow this equipment. Well, one of the motors wasnt working correctly. Missed a day of filming. At the hotel, I calibrated it both ways 2 times each and it still wasn't working. The motor is burning out, overheating and now the unit is not safe to use. I missed out on a lot of things for this reason. I should have purchased from GoPro as this failed in under 3 operation hours.

Awsome gimbal for low price.
Awesome gimbal, work well with my Hero 7. Smooth as hell and hold charge for weeks with regular use, which did surprise me.Here is why people talk about overheating and motor breaking fast:You can tell the gimbal is design for Gopro hero 5/6/7 as it really well balance and won't move or rotate by itself when powered off. If you move it by hand it will stay were you place it. (Other camera like the DJI Osmo might work fine too idk.) This mean it is well balance and the motor are not constantly working to keep it level, but only to compensate movement. I tried an Akaso EK7000 which is way lighter and I could feel the gimbal vibrating because the tilt axle would always be working to keep it level.Only bad things is that the motor for the pan axis lost is "home". So when I fired up the gimbal the camera point slightly to the left which can be corrected with the thumb control. Tried to calibrated to no avail.

Wanted it to work but didn't as expected
Had to return it.I really wanted this product to work and feels really well made. The package is great and they send you a mini tripod to hold the gimbal.Gimbal is smooth but here are the issues:When I tried to use it with the app, somehow the tripod started panning to the right. Motion lapse: if you set it for longer than 5 min, once the phone screen is off or you switch apps while you are running the motion lapse, game over. You don't know when it will stop and the app crashes. When using the gimbal alone, it works well wit the hero 7, but sometimes I would feel it was tilting and losing the horizon.
