The construction of this lens is as it appears in the photos... feels solid with glass and metal parts, save for the clip-on component. If I had to guess, I'd say these budget lenses began life as Macro/Wide-angle lenses for consumer camcorders of a decade ago and have now found new life as adapters for cell phone cameras - which is a good deal for us consumers. Looking directly through the lens, you'll notice it resolves very crisp at the center but drifts into blur near the edge. This is fine since the cellphone's lens only uses the center portion. The wide-angle lens actually unscrews from the macro lens, giving you the ability to focus on items very closely. Re-attaching the wide-angle adapter offers a reasonably wide viewing angle, but on my Google Pixel 2, the lens vignettes in the corners - but not in video mode. Other than that, this is a great budget lens to expand the photographic capabilities of your cell phone camera.

I have a cheaper Apexel macro lens but was not impressed with the results so I decided to try this one. I should have purchased this from the beginning and save my money. This 10x-20x macro is very well constructed and it feels solid in your hands. It comes with all the necessary extras including a ring light to take great macro shot with the iPhone. I'm pretty impressed with the image quality. Highly recommended.

I really tried to get this device to work, but it doesn't. When I clip it over my iPhone 7, there is no way to place it to avoid capturing the edge of the lens (rounding the corner of the picture). Also the clip is too short, so if you try to use it with a smart phone where the camera lens is in the center-back of the phone (like my LG android phone), you can only clip in one direction. There was less corner-rounding on the LG phone, but my iPhone takes superior pictures -- that was the primary reason I bought this lens. In both cases the wide-angle picture is noticeably distorted with a fish-eye appearance, NOT something I wanted. I didn't go further in testing the macro lens (wasn't interested). Amazon was gracious enough to give me a refund (the vendor apparently doesn't want the item returned to them) - so that part was good.

I wish this was easier to use. It is so awkward to put on your phone and line up perfectly. Especially in a situation where I’m trying to get the photo quickly. The light broke within a day so I don’t even get to use that anymore. It also is hard to focus and it seems like part of the shot is always out of focus no matter what you do

The MACRO lens exceeds my expectations (I didn't buy it for, nor test the wide angle). A few reviewers claimed that this lens did nothing. I think some may have made the innocent mistake of using the lens right out of the box, not realizing that the two lens are screwed together when shipped. The two lenses, the wide and macro, nearly cancel each other out if used together. It's not obvious that it's two lenses. But if you separate them, they work nice. I used the MACRO lens with a Motorola G Power and was able to achieve 26.4X (power) magnification. I know it's advertised at 12.5X, but I was able to enlarge a target (salt crystals see upload) that was 1.25 inches across to 33 inches across (English measure more suitable here). And clear and reasonably sharp.

My mistake in just looking at the title of "Zoom" lens. I did not pay attention to the accurate "Macro Zoom" lens. That was my error. But upon trying to use the lens as described I found it difficult to maintain the position of the lens in a usable position. So I find the product less than desirable even as described.

Wow, what an exciting piece of gear to add to your kit. If you enjoy Macro photography then this lens is small light and produces beautiful quality pictures. It takes a little learning to get used to using and get it to focus well but if you do your part the lens is sure not to disappoint. I am having so much fun with this just taking dramatic pictures of random everyday objects. I fully recommend giving this lens a try!
