Absolutely will not work on Mac
Yes, I know it says that in the specs but that isn't always the case. At any rate I have a Windows laptop as well and it works fine. You'll need to download some software, but it's pretty straighforward: plug it into the the walkie, plug it into the computer, follow the directions.

Things you should know about this cable
Just so you know this is a prolific cable. Know that going into it because you need the prolific and driver. Also know that this is open source software. I have a Mac and it was challenging to install on my machine. If you go to the website they have a PDF. Save yourself a lot of headache and hassle read it thoroughly and followed step-by-step and you should be good. Also if you're using a Mac there is an extra step when installing the software you will see a lock on the left lower corner of the screen. You must unlock it in order to use this software. However once you get it all setup it works great.

Need VCOM driver
I needed to reprogram some Arcsell AR5 radios and the CD of drivers didn't work. I googled for awhile and downloaded a VCOM driver. It worked perfectly with Chirp.
