It makes Hogwarts come to life!
I bought this to include with Harry Potter Lego Set #76419 as a Christmas gift. It's easier to build the set with the lighting kit rather than add it onto an already completed set. (That method requires quite a bit of disassembly!) The instructions that come with the lighting set tell you exactly what step in assembly to begin adding their pieces, it's really easy to do! The end result makes the set seem so much more 'alive' by adding shadow and light from underneath. Totally worth the price!

Love the light kits
The light kits really add that special spark to your LEGO. Super easy to follow the instructions. I usually add the lights as I build so I don’t have to take the LEGO apart. It takes longer but worth it to me.

Wires!
Pros- The wires are so much stronger than other kits I’ve used, the instructions are clear photos, comes with screwdriver & tweezers, and special bricks, different colour lights for different rooms/areas. Cons- if you don’t like wires showing them don’t get this kit. (See 1st photo) I will be re-doing it so that the wires go down to the void space under the set & then into the connectors. I’ve managed to hide a lot of the wires as I went, that the instructions had very visibly showing. There are 3 round lights that are far too big for the rooms on the back of the set and I don’t know why they picked these?? There are fab tiny lights for the towers & 2 side rooms, so I’ve no idea why the two smallest rooms have these huge lights. Really spoils the rooms. I also changed the lights on the lake at the front as I prefer the mini figure to be on the left corner, not the centre. Over all it’s good, especially if you like a little puzzle and challenge when it comes to hiding wires.

Battery doesn’t last long and very fiddly
These lights are very bright, but the battery life is disappointing. They drain quickly if left on, and you can see them getting dimmer as the day goes on. The wires are extremely thin, so you may find yourself using the included tweezers to position them properly. You also need to remove sections of the Lego build to run the wires underneath and around the bricks before reassembling everything. The trickiest part for me was the castle spires. You have to take them apart, thread the wires through to light the windows, and then rebuild them. It can be fiddly and time consuming. The kit does come in numbered bags like a Lego set, with clear instructions, but patience is essential. I even managed to slice through the power cable while reassembling, so I had to buy a replacement. For the price, it is on the expensive side, and the battery really does not last long enough. That said, the finished result looks amazing. If you are happy to keep changing batteries and don’t mind a detailed, delicate assembly process, it’s worth it for the final effect.
