NIV, Personal Size Reference Bible, Large Print, Premium Leather, Calfskin, Black, Red Letter, Comfort Print

This Bible is well designed and incredibly well priced! Nearly all Bibles with large print and references are too large in size, either phone book size or large dictionary size.. this one is the perfect size for holding in hand, carrying, etc. The paper is white and more opaque than most high end Bibles with India paper, the print is large, clear and consistently printed dark with little or no ghosting. The calfskin leather cover is soft, yet strong and thick enough to give the Bible structure. The Bible opens flat and the binding is flexible and sewn. The concordance is small but improved with a dictionary of terms integrated. The silver gilding and no yap are my preference, appearing more 21st century than Elizabethan, fitting for a translation made into modern English diction, not archaic English (KJV) or transliterated awkward English (ESV?) which would not pass for modern English. This is a great edition of an excellent translation and an amazing price! Thank you Zondervan!

It is a joy to see a reasonably priced Bible of this quality! The 12 point print size is perfect and the thought and thinnest of the paper keep the text very readable. I like the end of paragraph reference notes and there's plenty of white space around the double column print block to further lessen the stress on your eyes. The pages are sewn, not glued, and had about an inch and 3/4 thick and 6 in by 9 in in size, it's quite easy to carry. The calfskin leather cover is beautiful and will clearly last a lifetime. I am almost 58 years old and if this is the last Bible I ever buy, I will be more than satisfied

I have had many Bibles, always searching for the one that would have all the features I would hope to have. This one is it!The leather cover is soft, supple and pliable. The pebble grain of the leather provides a good grip.The gilding on the pages and the letters on the cover are silver instead of gold which makes for an attractive Bible.There are two ribbon markers that are handy if reading in the Old Testament as well as the New.The text print,which Zondervan calls Comfort Print, is 12-point font, very clear and easy to read.Although the pages are on the thin side to avoid thickness in a Personal Size Bible, there is not much ghosting. My wax highlighters do not show through at all.There is a useful Dictionary/Concordance in back as well as several lined pages for personal notes.This Bible is complete with colored maps.The popular updated NIV is a great, clear translation. I find it superior as such to the ESV, NKJV, and NASB.Therefore, I am extremely pleased with the quality and features of this Bible and hope to use it each day for many years.

If you are a fan of the NIV translation and seeking a nice, well-made edition with large print, you can't beat this one. The leather feels like calfskin. The paper is somewhat opaque- good enough for my tired eyes. The limited cross references and textual footnotes are well-done. My only complaint is that a nice bible like this deserves two wide, silk ribbons, not the two skinny, cheaply-made ribbons they put in here. But that's a minor gripe. It's an excellent bible for the money.

Overall, I am very pleased with this bible. The size of the font makes it very readable. There is a flaw in the red lettering at John 3:16-21 where Jesus is speaking but the print is black, not red. I haven't found any other instances of this but there could be. That could explain the value pricing on this leather edition. The red lettering is a mellow shade of red, not glaring as in some bibles. The leather cover is simple and attractive, the binding is sturdy and so is the bible itself. I can comfortably hold it in one hand whether opened or closed. That said, someone with arthritis may need to have it in their lap or on a table. Despite the issue with the red lettering, I give this bible 5 stars as it's a close to A- as I can get.

This Bible is a really great purchase. Easy to read, a nice size so it can be carried easily. The page thickness is really good. Let me explain, I have owned bibles that have had such thin pages that you can see the letters on the next page. This Bible has a nice opaqueness of the pages even though that are thin. I really like that a lot. Last but definitely not least, this Bible is beautiful!! The calf skin is so soft and elegant. WOW!I have a few bibles and this one is my fav. my wife and I liked this Bible so much we bought four of them.

The large print is too small.

i was looking for a large print bible. and this is the perfect bible. i am loving it and blessed with the treasure inside the Holy Bible.
