Why can’t i use this on a rimmed tank?

The pixie 30fw did not fit on my rimmed tank in either position, and I had to cut a good portion of the rim out to get it to fit. IT WORKS BUT NOT THE BEST MOUNT for a rimmed tank! The mount had to be put on with the mounting screw on inside of tank, so it could grab rim to hold light in place without falling after cutting rim to get it to fit.

Is this light dimmable? If so, what dimmer would work with it?

Yes, this light is dimmable. Planted light has a dimmable manual knob. marine light has a IR remote controller to adjust the intensity, 4 dimmable channels.

how many watts on the lowest setting? small 2.5 gallon tank 14 inches across would this be too bright? would it be too narrow?

You can dim the intensity from zero to the maximum, If too bright, you can dim down the light a little bit.

This asta 20 sea water version is full spectrum? use what leds ? suitable sps ? have green red and uv?

Salwater version has full spectrum, including UV, red, green, blue, white, royal blue led. Suitable for both LPS and SPS.
