This book was so good I decided to trepan myself.Only kidding.. But only just.. I defy anyone to read this & not come away from it wondering what if..!Fabulously written, a real treat for anybody into the mid 20th century counter-culture scene.Thanks for the buzz Joe!

I love this book. It won't be for everyone but it's entirely unique, well written, and fascinating. You will have not read anything like it before.

Great book! Provides some great insight on auto-trepanation and why those few people did it. Very interesting book, you've got to read it if you're interested in trepanation or beat writing.

Very happy with my purchase!!! I couldn’t find this book anywhere else, and I’m so happy I found it on here. This is an excellent book. It’s a very interesting read, and I enjoyed it. Would recommend.

I read this book twice by now. If you are into psychedelic stuff and a different view on drug prohibition I highly recommend this book.

Sicuramente ad alcuni lettori questo testo risulterà, contenutisticamente parlando, indigesto (del resto si tratta dell'autobiografia di un uomo che si è praticato da solo la trapanazione), ma non si può negare che questa versione (edita da Strange Attractor) sia anche estremamente affascinante e munita di un'ottima introduzione, nonché selezione fotografica inedita; anche l'intervista con Bart Hughes contribuisce a rendere il libro molto completo e lo emancipa dallo status di semplice memoir. Nel complesso è davvero ben curato anche a livello grafico.

It was a Christmas present for my son. Although he loves the book and it is exactly what he wanted, it took far too long to arrive. I ordered the book December 17th, however it did not get delivered until February 1st.
