I bought this after becoming interested in color analysis. After charging the small device and downloading the app, you simply take readings of your skin and hair. Then the app tells you your best colors. You can also read the clothes in your closet to find out what truly flatters you and what doesn’t. Takes the question out of “Can I really wear that color?” Also I have found it can surprise you. I thought orange was “off limits” for my “summer” coloring, but a soft orange and cream sundress (I always get complimented on) was a yes according to this device. I know this purchase will save me time and money in the future. And it gives me confidence that I’m choosing my best colors.

Be aware this device requires a paid subscription - $9.99 a month after a free trial month. As far as I can see, this is not stated anywhere in the product description, video, or guide that came with the device. Even the AI chatbot didn't reveal the extra cost when I asked. I bought the device, charged it, loaded the app, and then learned of the ongoing financial obligation. It wouldn't pair with my phone without a subscription so I'm returning it.

I just tried the COLYR Kit and it was freaking great. I needed help finding a solid shirt for a "business casual" event where my boss would attend. I want to look polished for this work event but also not like dressed up. I didn't want to spend tons of time/money researching what's “in” or trying to piece outfits together an hour before the event.The device and app are straightforward and deliver exactly what I wanted--quick, tactical advice on what to wear. The shipping was fast, and the kit was easy to setup. It came with instructions that made it dead simple to get the job done. The guidance is easy to follow--it told me exactly which short to buy. My girlfriend even commented about how my outfit looked "put together". The kit simply showed me how to find the right colors for me. I looked sharper without a bunch of back-and-forth and trying stuff on (which I hate). It's also way less pricy than some of the prices I've heard about for hiring a personal stylist. I could even use this for faster shopping since half my closet just sits there gathering dust.Now I know I look great without overthinking. This is a smart gadget. Exactly what I need! I thought this would be more insightful but basically I will rely on my eye and taste to determine if colors look good for clothing when buying them. Plus you have to pay a subscription monthly for using the mobile app. I returned this item. I would not recommend at all.

I’ve seen COLYR advertised online for awhile now and finally decided to try it. Am I glad I did! The sensor and app are much easier to use than I thought they would be. Went through my closet using COLYR and now my closet contains mostly the colors that look best on me. The online guide is great, gives lots of color hints. Going to take COLYR shopping with me - will eliminate trying on colors that won’t work! Great product! Shipping was fast!! Highly recommend for personal use and for a very useful Christmas present!

I’m not one to write reviews, but I’m going to make an exception because this is a small company with a brilliant idea. I initially decided to purchase because I want to look good, color is a big part of that, and seasonal color analysis doesn’t make any sense. This does, and it’s easy to understand why when you read the little guide that comes with the kit. It’s just math. My colors are muted—as they should be, and I look good in them because they’re based on the colors in my skin and hair. If you want loud clown colors, you should look elsewhere for that circus. I had a question about how to take the initial readings, and the company’s owner was responsive and helpful. It sounds like there are some updates in the works that will allow you to scan and upload your entire closet, which should streamline the process further. Overall, I’m really impressed; this makes color easy.
