Springer Spaniel in Love!
I love this product! Our springer can't stop playing with it. Took a little patience to train him to use it on his own, but only took about 2 times with it! No issues with the spring or decal as some others described (and our dog is kinda hard on it). If you do not have an easily trainable dog, this might not be for you. I also only let him play with it for so long so that he doesn't drink too much water and get over hydrated because he loves it so much! He sits and whines at in the garage! Well worth the price!!

Much better than a bowl
This is better than having a bowl outside for the pups. I have had the auto fill bowl before and it starts to grow algae if it sits for a few days. Plus if it is out at night you may have other animals drinking from it with diseases you don’t want. Took me about three days to teach 3 dogs how to use it. They love it and know exactly what to do now. Quality is good. All metal construction except for the hose. You can also control the water flow with the included valve so it does shoot 3 feet in the air and startle the dog.

My Dog Loves It, But Needs Tougher Decal
If Parker, my yellow Lab, were reviewing the Piepea Brass Valve Outdoor Dog/Pet Water Fountain, she'd give it TEN stars if she could -- she LOVES it. My rating, though, has to be 4 stars, but only because the edge of the paw print decal started ripping within the first 5 minutes of her playing with the fountain. The construction of the unit appears to be excellent, and the package contains different types of connections for whatever hose arrangement you might have. The height of the water column can be adjusted by the valve handle on two of the included connectors. Getting my Lab used to it took less than 10 minutes. I sat by it, playfully tapped the pedal to shoot water into the air, and she immediately tried to grab the water. Getting her to understand that she could cause the water to shoot up took getting her real excited so that she accidentally stepped on it a couple of times, and then praising her profusely. We kept that up until she made the connection that stepping on the pedal would cause the water to shoot up, and from that point on, she was unstoppable. My other dog is a Lab/Rottweiler mix that is not afraid of water but he could take it or leave it. He was right there as Parker learned to play with the fountain, and his vote apparently was to leave it. He paid absolutely no attention to it whatsoever, even as a source of water on what is a HOT and sunny Miami afternoon. Based on his reaction, not all dogs will take to it like Parker did, but if your dog likes to play in sprinklers or with the water from a hose, this fountain is likely to be a hit.My only disappointment is that the paw print decal does not stand up to dog nails and begins to rip almost immediately. It's a cool decal, and the colors are great against the white pedal, but after one play session, it has scratches and rips in it. Piepea, my suggestion is that you apply a layer of polyethylene over the decal to toughen it for dog nails.

Hilarious
This was a little bit of a challenge to teach our 7 year old GSD but with a little bit of patience, focus (from both of us) and peanut butter. She is now entertaining herself for hours if we let her. It’s so funny just to watch her go at it. It’s a win for everybody. She’s entertained by the water and we don’t have to stand there and spray her with the hose.

I love this product, however
I looked around and went for the better quality fountain and it was worth it. Though, there's one fatal flaw. The part that the dog presses on needs to have some kind of rubber matting or something to help the dogs paw not just slide off instantly. We have been looking at something to use and will get this out for the dogs once we have something in place for their paws. The second star came off due to there needs to be some kind of rubber piece in the hole where the water spurts up as my dog hit his teeth and gums and bled a little bit.Did it stop him from enjoying the heck out of himself? No way! Was it bad or was he hurt badly? No way. The blood cleared up right away. But I am working to find a solution there as well. I'm thinking of a quarter inch rubber piece to go around the top of that hold so when he gets his nose down there, it won't get to the metal part that spurts the water. Two tweaks that need real solutions. And yet, My dogs look at the toy and they whine for it. I just tell them.. soon... very soon.

Dog loves it when I step on it
I used this during the summer and doggie loved it but couldn't get him to push on the plate. There were times he accidentally stepped on it but so far haven't gotten him trained to use this by himself. We'll see this summer if I can get him to step on it himself. As far as the unit itself, it's very heavy duty. No issues with it so far. Will update if anything unfortunate happens.

Great toy!
The media could not be loaded. Great toy! It was that quick to teach our 11 year old dog to learn! He’s completely soaked now, happy and exhausted! Well worth!

Aspiration pneumonia/sick dog
The product worked as it should, my dog loved it, but after using for twenty minutes I shut it off (he was obsessed with it). Than I noticed within first hour eyes swelled up, he was laying around, started vomiting water, and than urinating u controllably in the house large quantities of water. I was doing chest physiotherapy on him because his lungs sounded full of fluid too. I was afraid he was going to die quite honestly. I'm sure the maker of this product didn't intend for this, but my dog was very sick and miserable for about five hours after using this. I will be throwing this out. Just wanted to let this be known.
