Agree with other reviewers that this battery depletes at a slower rate and lasts longer than the nikon battery. The type C cable plug is the best for emergency charging or simply field charging without a charging "box". It is recommended that you cycle the full charge to fully depleted three times to activate the "memory" of the battery to hold a larger charge, so it reads in two of the three battery manuals I have, so I do it. I have no issues with the lights, red charging and green charged, however long it takes, especially when building the memory where it may change in duration. These batteries are a money saver and are good quality, not cheap junk like some out there, and are fully compatible with my Z6III camera.

I saw some unclear reviews as to whether this would work on a Z5II or not, I can confirm it works with the latest firmware and the USB-C charging works great. This is way more handy than having to carry a separate charger or having to plug in your camera to charge a battery. I’m also a sucker for orange and this is a nice satisfying bright orange that’s super easy to find in your camera bag. With the price difference between this and a genuine Nikon battery plus the easy charging outside the camera- this battery should be a no brainer for a backup! So far it seems to last just as long as the genuine Nikon battery as well.

I have a Nikon Z6III and this battery works great. It's significantly cheaper than the OEM battery while still offering the same level of performance. The charge and function is on par with Nikon's and I haven't had any problems with it. My favorite part of this battery is that it can be charged using a standard USB C cable. This means you no longer need to travel with your Nikon battery charger. Using USB C to charge is not only convenient, but it also charges fast. I purchased 3 of these batteries mainly for travel, but I like the performance enough that I use them at home just as much as my Nikon batteries.

These are fantastic. They last as long as the Nikon original batteries, but they can charge via a built-in USB C port...which is FANTASTIC! Compatible with my Nikon Z7II, and, apparently all other Nikons that require EN-EL 15c batteries. No error messages. They have an LED which tells you when the battery is finished charging. Also, their bright orange colors make them easy to find in my camera bag. They're half the price of the Nikons, which tells me Nikon batteries are a rip off! Now, these are all I use! Why only 4 stars? I did get a battery that had a bad LED indicator.

Batteries work great. Usb-c charging is very convenient. I do take pride in accepting the Dumb Consumer award. Last night I took the batteries out of my bag, placed the covers on, and charged them over night. When I woke up the charge indicator was still red. Charged them for 2 more hours, still red. When the orange covers are installed on the battery, the green fully charge indicator will appear red through the orange plastic cover. Light colors - Orange - not fully charged. Green - fully charged. Picture 1: Both are fully charged. The on on the left appears to be not charged but the orange covers makes the green light appear orange. Picture 2: Both batteries are fully charged but looking from an angle the green light on the battery closets appears more orange. Picture 3: All three batteries fully charged but the gray battery (another brand) fully charged indicator is a much brighter green even at an angle. I like both batteries. The orange of the Small Rig batteries are easier to find in any color bag interview, except orange. I would and have recommend this battery. (Apologize the pictures were cropped a bit)

As a working photographer, I’ve trusted Nikon batteries for years—so I was cautious about trying something different. After running this SMALLRIG EN-EL15C for over a year, I can honestly say it outperforms my OEM batteries. Runtime is actually a little longer, and I’ve never once had a charging warning pop up on my cameras. It just works. The USB-C charging is the game-changer. I can top it off from my V-Pro battery, or plug it into solar USB pack when I’m off-grid. No wall outlet required. I bought a blue and orange one to keep track of one and 2. However the bright orange shell makes it easy to spot if it gets dropped in the field—a small but thoughtful detail that saves headaches on long shoots. If I need to replace (probably because I lost it) I'll get another orange. The build feels solid, and it hasn’t let me down in desert heat, dust, or long days of sports and real estate work. If you want more flexibility than OEM without sacrificing reliability, this battery earns its spot in the kit. It’s become my go-to for everyday and remote shoots alike.

This battery worked great as a backup battery for my Nikon Z7 and Z6ii. No compatibility issues and seems to last as long as the Nikon brand batteries. The USB-C charging ability is helpful in an emergency also.

I bought this to replace an OEM Nikon EL-EL15 battery that wasn't keeping the charge. I chose this because I am familiar with the Small Rig brand, higher capacity and because of the usb charging. The information said this was compatible with OEM Nikon batteries. I have a Nikon D500, D810 and Z8. The D500 and D810 have battery grips. When I put the Small Rig battery in the battery grips of the D500 and D810 both cameras do not turn on. I get the battery "not charged" icon even though I charged it. However it works if I removed the battery grip and insert the battery into the cameras directly. The battery does work in the Z8. I can charge the battery in the Nikon charger. I am satisfied with this Small Rig battery and will tolerate the inconvenience of removing the battery grip every time I use it. Interestingly Small Rig's website says the orange version of this battery is for the mirrorless Z camera and DSLR camera but the blue version which is what I bought is for DSLR's.

Bought 2 USB-C chargeable batteries to keep my Z6 III charged during a long day of shooting. When these ran low I connected them to a Ecoflow River 3 Plus to top them back up via USB-C and this battery worked perfectly for that purpose. I did not notice any battery life issues compared to genuine EN-EL15C, but I did not perform any sort of controlled testing, just used the camera as normal. I bought two different brands because I was worried about compatibility and did not have time to re-order but both worked as expected, including this one.
