Both of the Devices we ordered were defective and the band leaves welts on the kids' wrists
I purchased two KidFit wrist activity trackers on Amazon.com for my kids for Christmas. We tried them out for the past month and have determined that they do not work properly. First of all, one of them just will not charge. We have tried the cable that came with it, the cable that came with the second device, and other cables we have. It seemed to be charging when we first plugged it in but didn’t fully charge and then never would charge after that. We were never able to get it well enough charged to try out the software. The second device charged fine though I was unable to install the software on my Samsung phone (OS Ice Cream Sandwich) because the Google Play store said there was not a version of the software compatible with my phone so my husband had to do it on his smartphone (Huawei phone - OS Android 4.3). We got the software installed but then found that the device only records data half of the time. Our five year old wears this device every day, though I made her stop wearing it to bed and had her start alternating wrists each day because it leaves angry red, raw marks on her arm. Amazingly she doesn't seem to mind too much, but I do! When we check the data at the end of each day though, recordings are only provided maybe half of the time. She is always so disappointed when it has not counted her steps for the day. My husband played with it by jiggling it around a bit a few times and checking it, and consistently found that it recorded some of the times and not others. The other down side to this device is that it is difficult to tell what mode it's in and provides no feedback to my daughter letting her know how she is doing without having to wait until her dad gets home to check and see if it recorded anything. Not very kid friendly.Neither of the devices functions properly and though my children are enthusiastic about using them, have been completely disappointed in the fact that they don’t work. I delayed on requesting a refund because we were trying to make sure the second device was for sure not working properly and it wasn't just user error. I didn't realize that you have to request a return by the end of January. So I coincidentally went on today (Feb 1) to return both defective devices only to find that Amazon's deadline to return them was yesterday! I sure hope the manufacture (X-doria) honors their one year warranty or I'm going to be very upset! I contacted their customer service and it looks like they might try to force us to try replacement devices, but I am super hesitant to put my kids through another month of constant disappointment, not to mention my reservations about the welts it leaves on their wrists.

Loving It!
Ever since I purchased a FitBit for myself, my 7.5 year old daughter was asking for one. It seemed like a great idea, but I wasn't too keen on her using the FitBit app - she didn't need to be tracking her calories, etc, but I liked the idea of her gauging her fitness level and meeting a goal. After a little research, I came across the KidFit and found it to be a brand new product. It arrived today and the setup was pretty painless. The band seems sturdy and the app interface also looks good. I plan on updating this review as we use it to see if really does what it says...I am really hopeful and want to be able to make this a 5 star review in a few weeks!Edit 9/2/14 - A week in and we are really loving this product! My daughter loves checking on her status and asks if we can go for a walk if she needs more points! The only improvement I'd really like to see at this point is the ability to manually add activity. For example, when a child is in organized sports there is a no jewelry rule. My daughter had a cheerleading camp the other day and was really disappointed that she couldn't track her activity for the day.

Rash! And doesn't sync well -- GREAT customer service
My daughter loved this little thing so much that she wore it all the time. She soon developed a nasty rash around her wrist and that was the end of it. I did not like that there no words or numbers on the screen, just a blinking light of different colors so we weren't able to see how she was doing until we (tried to) sync, which often didn't work. We had to reset the thing a couple of times but lost all her data to get it to sync. Sometimes it would sync but show no activity or steps. ???**update: I contacted the company about the rash and within a few hours was told that I will get a full refund. Changing from two to three starts for great customer service.

the wrist band is cool, but not big enough for my 7 year old daughter's wrist... granted, she is a large child, but I would think it should fit a teenager and that is what size her wrist is... she lost it while playing at a kids gym in a foam pit...

I should have read the reviwes more closely. There is not a display on this tracker so my daughter has to log in to my phone to check her progress. I would buy a different product if I had to do it over again.

... an activity tracker for my daughter but was really disappointed in this one
I was really excited to get an activity tracker for my daughter but was really disappointed in this one. While it looks good and fit well we were never able to get it to work properly. I read the instructions and did all the trouble shooting I could find but still no luck. It did not sync to my iPhone or iPad. Hope others have had better luck.

Would be nice if it came in an adjustable band
My daughter complains of the band begin too tight at times. Would be nice if it came in an adjustable band. Also, the ends started peeling shortly after we got it.

It wasn't what I expected to be. And it didn't really work for what I wanted it for. I guess I read the specifications wrong

Do not buy this rubbish!
An absolutely rubbish product. Fantastic idea but poor execution buggy software poor manufacturing quality and what started as good support turned into 2 products both not working and no refund offered as Amazon too late for return and company has stopped communicating. Would have been 0 stars but doesn't allow you to post with 0 stars. I now have little girl with no product and a big disappointment. Bad news stay clear.....
