Mishimoto MMSK-BK Weighted Shift Knob, with 3 Thread Pitch Inserts to Fit Various Vehicle Models, Black Steel

Just installed this on my 2012 Mazda Speed 3, haven't been able to drive it yet but gave it some go through the gears and it feels good. It's got a good weight too it so throws feel nice, it's got a good smooth finish no sharp edges or any of that. It's somewhat stylish in a minimalist kind of way. The installation was simple, it came with 3 different sized threads the middle size matched my shifter perfectly. It screws down nice and snug. The only problem someone else might have is that the knob is fairly tall so if you have a short throw and like the feeling of your shifter being lower this will bring it up a bit. Overall it's a nice knob that doesn't cost a a fortune.

I installed this on my GR86 and the difference was immediate. The shifts feel way more solid and controlled compared to stock. It almost feels like the shifter “falls” into gear instead of me having to force it in. The added weight really helps smooth out the 2nd–3rd and 3rd–4th shifts, especially during normal and spirited driving. It makes rev matching feel more forgiving too, since the transition between gears is less harsh. Install was super easy. Just unscrew the factory knob, and thread this one on. It comes with adapters so fitment wasn’t an issue at all. Only small note is that you can see a bit more of the shift lever underneath depending on your setup, but it doesn’t affect anything functionally. Overall, this is one of those cheap mods that actually changes how the car feels to drive. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth it.

For even buying a used one it hold up perfectly love the weight for shifts highly recommend!

Cool shifter!

Pros: Nice 3" height extension, makes shifting easier and more comfortable. Slightly heavier than stock knob, shifts feel smoother, easier and less notchey, but it's not overly heavy to the point I'm worried about bending the fork. Beautiful polished aluminum matches my interior and adds a nice look without being too flashy. Nice shape, matches form of hand well when shifting from the side. Cons: Threads only cut halfway, needed a tap to get the knob to screw down far enough to hide the threads on the shift lever. Major con if you don't have access to a tap and die set. Diameter is less than an inch, does not feel substantial enough. Flat top combined with small diameter makes shifting from the top feel very awkward. Overall for me the cons outweigh the pros and I have already ordered a different shift knob to try. Still rating 4 stars because it is a quality product and my reasons for dissatisfaction are merely personal.

Absolutely great feel, got it for my 2011 mazdaspeed 3. WARNING I know there’s a review for a speed3 but this kit does NOT come with an adapter for the car. A speed 3 uses an M10x1.25 and this kit only comes with an m10x1.5. You will have to order either their adapter kit that comes with 4 sizes or get a different adapter.

Firstly, straight out of the box I thought someone made a mistake and sent me a toy shift knob. This thing is TINY compared to the stock knob. After installing it, I have no complaints. The smaller size makes it much easier to maintain grip without slipping (I'm in Louisiana, so it be hot y'all). I wouldn't have thought a smaller knob would have been a good fit, but I was completely wrong. 2014 Focus ST..... Fits and looks great. (I did have to also buy a reverse lockout bushing to go with it). Definitely recommend this product!

I got the black version, but with the polish on it, its more like a shiney gun metal. Very hefty weight and feels great. I hesitated and was going to give it 4 stars, but decided it doesn't affect usage. The inside of the knob, above where the threading ends, was extremely rusted right out of the box. It reminded me of how old exhaust piping looks after years of use. But, this doesn't affect the outside look and quality, so Im rating without that in mind. The only thing I wish I could change is the adapter length. My shaft doesn't have a lot of threading at the top, so it bottomed out and looks pretty tall. It's probably just due to it being on an automatic, but it would be nice to adjust the height. Yeah, weighted knob on an auto, its funny. But the OEM kob was rubbing off and the simple, clean look is very attractive. I exclusively use the "manual mode" when I drive, though, so I can tell you that you really do feel the weight of the knob when moving it around.
