It's an RPi - nuff said!
Another upgrade for an excellent microprocessor.I really like the way they have integrated the cooling hat onto the device. My biggest problem with the RPi4 was over heating. The heat sinks on a Pi4 could get too hot to touch. But the real upgrade is the PCIe interface. All my Pi5's are running from SSD drives, not SDC chips. I'm ttired of replacing SDC chips because of power blinks.Good microprocessor and well supported with an international community. There may be other micro's out there, but I'll keep and reccommend the RPi's.

Raspberry Pi
This is a Raspberry Pi. I have six of them. They are fantastic. I use them to experiment and run various server applications. They are all very stable. This Raspberry Pi 5 is noticeably much faster than my Raspberry Pi 4s.

RPi Foundation does it again!!!
I've been using Raspberry Pi Computers since day One. there may be a model or two that I don't own (doubtful). I just don't know how they do it. Each year or so the come out wit a new model that's faster/has more RAM that most of its predecessors. I've only had my RPI-5 for a few days, but everything I've seen tells me this will be my primary RPI (until the next one comes along). Even though the price is no longer $35.00 in the us... the inflation rate of the RPI is about the same as milk or meat. Way to go! RPI Foundation.

I wanted to like this…
these are great hobby boards but not really useful beyond that. The boot from usb rather than shdc is flaky and unreliable and if you choose to boot from shdc the cards fail fairly quickly. I returned it and bought an Intel N100 mini instead and have been running ubuntu 24.04 with no issues since

Lots more power than the 4
So far I'm loving the extra processing power these supply over the 4. My graphical animation project on the 4 was choppy and slow at times but with the 5 all of those issues have gone away so I'm quite happy.

Pi 5 ROCK ! However
I own 7 x Pi 5s 5 of them are 8gb ram and the other 2 or 4gb ram . I don't know why but the 4gb ram ones the USBs are hard to plug things into it .

Better than the 4
Works great. Uses a bit more energy than the 4, but is also way more powerful.
