Incredible build, challenging
Very in depth build, not for the faint of heart. Also, don’t buy this for a child unless you plan to build it for them and then rebuild it over and over. Honestly, I’m impressed by the quality. Most of the pieces fit tightly together. So much so that my fingers hurt. The little hammer they send with it is fantastic. I was missing 2-3 pieces but in a 4000+ piece set, I’m not surprised. Nothing that kept me from finishing it. One notable issue was the sails. They sent the incorrect quantity so I have a few that were too small. The bow detail and the area with the fire is incredible but very fragile. I do have an issue with the amount of pieces you have to put together in this. Where Lego would make an individual piece, Mould King will have two smaller pieces that need to be put together. The one major problem I have with this build is that there’s multiple compartments in the ship with no real way to access them. Lego usually makes tops easily removable but no such luck here. Easily one of the most complicated builds I’ve done. The amount of pieces that are the same color and the sheer amount of bags needed was crazy. The instructions aren’t like Lego but as long as you take your time you should be able to figure it out. It adds a bit of a challenge to the build. I will absolutely buy more from this company.

Be very careful moving after you're finished. The sail masts will fall off very easy.
Build the stand first. Instructions say to do it last but I recommend doing it first. This gets heavier as you build and you don't want to keep picking it up without the stand. Top part of ship is the hardest. Lots of small pieces and they tend to fall off very easily.

Awesome set so far
My son just turned (4) 5/24 and I got this for him as a present because he's been building Lego sets with my for about 6 months and has started being able to build sets himself. I read all the reviews and I'm not sure what the deal is, cause my 4 year old is putting this together 😆 the illustrations CAN be slightly confusing at times with the green outline and trying to determine exact placement, but looking at either before picture and actual model it's quickly figured out. As far as quality, I think it's mostly excellent. I have one little section on each side of the bow that wants to lift up ever so slightly (circled on red) but I think pressing both sides down simultaneously helped seat it better. He's just about to to start bag #4, the biggest thing is trying to keep him focused because this is obviously the biggest build by far he's ever done and I think he might be getting a tad bored doing the big repetitive sections. It's ok, one day he'll truly appreciate this when it's done. One thing I don't understand but was really neat when we were doing bag #3 was that the large cannons have the ability to seemingly "fire" a projectile. This excited me at first thing there might be cannon ball type things but then realized the spring mechanism you pull back is going to be completely covered by the deck. It's still cool that they seem to have a function, but apparently useless.Considering I got this for $100, you absolutely cannot beat this. The only current Lego pirate ship (3 in 1) available is over $100 and aprx. 2,400 LESS pieces. Granted that comes with minifigs but I mean come on, this flying Dutchman is basically art. Really considering the bigger MK black pearl set once this is done.P.s. the hammer tool included is awesome. My kid kinda complained his fingers hurt from pushing pieces down so much, then we discovered the hammer and it's fantastic. Now he's just smashing away and it really seats the bricks nice & tight.

Large and beautiful ship. Fun too.
For a kit with loads of pieces, it went together perfectly. It took a long time to finish and it had all the pieces plus several extra smaller pieces. Only had to use the glue on a few pieces at various locations. The pieces fit perfectly but some had stress that caused it to easily be removed by touching. It is a huge kit after completed and was loads of fun. The colors varied throughout the pieces and it makes a great replica to the original ship. There were numerous parts that are functional by moving or opening/closing. Plus, there were cords to replicate the ropes between the masts and deck. It didn't have the usual LEGO look to it, as it was mostly covered and looked great. For the price, it is well worth the purchase and the fun involved putting it together.

Very Nice Set
I am retired & put these sets together when I've got some free time. I've done mostly lego, but found Funwhole sets to be excellent also. This was my first Mould King set. Overall I thought this set was great. There were no missing pieces. The instructions were clear. The brick quality was a bit less than lego, but still very good overall. The completed ship looks great .. but it's big! I would definitely purchase this again!

Do Not Buy This On Amazon
This is a nice model but having done many Lego models in the past you are going to need supper glue with this one. Pieces do fall off with the slightest twitch. BUT, VERY IMPORTANT on why I gave only 1 star. The MFR will NOT help you if you find out you have missing pieces. I am toward the end of this build and have a missing piece. Because I bought this on Amazon I had to reach out to them, the MFR will NOT help you when you don’t buy directly from them (China Based MFR). The Customer Service for Amazon I finally contacted is overseas and sent me on a joy ride. Told me to contact the seller and sent me a link that didn’t work. There is no way to finish the model unless I buy another full model. Unbelievable. If you want a model from Mould King, buy directly from them. That is the only way you will get support from them. They do not support 3rd selling channels. That’s directly from the MFR. Maybe, if I am lucky the seller will respond after reading this. But don’t count on that.
