Great for fine motor skills development
We got to check out the Smart Sounds Play House and it was fun but a bit too easy for my just-about-to-be 4 year old and a bit too advanced for my about-to-be 1 year old. I think the 2+ age on the box is spot on. Anyway, the doors to each room open in different ways (pull, twist, turn, lift, etc.) and then inside each room there is an action: push to ring a doorbell, twist on the tub “faucet,” and so on. Great for building up fine motor skills for sure. Also love that the rooms are “half” rooms so the toy doesn’t take up unnecessary space. Will look forward to playing with my baby girl next year! #learningresources #brilliantmindsmember

Flimsy
Not sure why this was so expensive.. little junky, not much to it. It falls over very easily. The light switch in one of the rooms in the house doesn’t stay up or down so it might actually be broken. Don’t waste money on this.

Not impressed
It's just ok. The interactive items like the light switch is a fun idea but it lacks a wow factor.

No
Some things on this toy were just to hard to do. Like opening and closing the doors or light switch. Seems cheap and possibley getting stuck.

Quality not as expected
Product came with a damaged box and a broken part inside (rattled). Very frustrating as we purchased to take in the car on vacation and had to leave it behind. Now past the return window.

I liked the product, but the purple doors keep falling off. Other than that it's fine.

Fun and engaging
When we opened the box I both my 5 and 2 year old were eager to start playing. My 2 year old is so busy and this helped entertain him while I was cooking dinner. He was busy flipping the switch and seeing what was in each door.

Great idea but windows were pulled off after 10 minutes with a delicate 23 month old!
This is a great idea to build fine motor strength, develop logic and problem solving skills and to repeat the experiences with colours BUT it's maddening that my 23 mo th old was able to pull the purple Windows off after 10 minutes of play and the thought that was the best part of the toy and the most amazing thing she'd ever achieved so kept doing it.My 23 month old is tiny for her age and delicate touch, fingered even colouring in she isn't heavy handed at all, but she hooked her little fingers around the window and pulled and they popped out the pop-in hinges. They pop back in but anyparent who has had the misfortune of reattaching doors to a Happyland building will know they just won't stay in once they've been popped and you will spend half your time popping them back in whilst they scream earsplittingly in indignation or/and grief.Other than the stupid Windows this has potential to be a great toy, the little figures aren't 100% necessary but give an added value of small world play and additional games you can play such as hide and seek and concreting vocabulary. The eaves if the house are decorated with the alphabet to remind of the series and the windows are colour coded to concrete colour knowledge. Each room has a fine motor activity- whirring the wheel, push the squeaky button, turn the tap, click the clock and switch the light switch all accompanied by loud motor noises. The bonus of this is no batteries and high reward for engaging with fine motor skills, counting and awareness of others. It's just a shame the Windows fall off!!

Play house
This is an educational toy focusing mainly on fine motor skills for 2 years and upwards. It is in the shape of a house with four windows and a door each of them a different colour to help consolidate colour knowledge. Inside each window is a different fine motor activity including a switch and a button to push. There are also two figures included which will encourage imaginative play. The alphabet is difficult to find at first and I'm not sure how it would encourage learning of letters as they are all and in the same colour as the roof which they are on. Same with the numbers. The colours are a bit garish and make the whole toy look a little cheap but I'm not two and I'm sure two year olds wouldn't mind. It's good that it doesn't come with too many loose bits and pieces as the inevitable loss of these can be frustrating for both parent and child.

A beginners dolls' house
This is a dolls' house in a very basic form for very young children. It is designed to close up and be carried and this helps with storage. There are two figures with it that fit into the house but if they are mislaid it can still be used. Each room has a different switch or other gadget that makes a noise of produces an effect and these don't need batteries, hurrah !This has lots of play potential but I shouldn't worry too much about the claim that it is educational. It is fun and absorbing for young children who can make up lots of games and can operate the switches, etc. Just be warned that some of the mechanisms aren't that easy for small fingers (or sadly, older but arthritic fingers) to operate. The house is brightly coloured without being garish and because it folds up it is easy to store and there aren't too many small pieces to get lost.
