Great screen protector
I love the zagg screen protectors and they are easy to put on your phone. I highly recommend filling out the warranty because mine screen protectors broke and I had to get a replacement for a small fee.

Does its job well
Phone flew off the tonneau cover on my pickup at 60 mph. Product shattered but protected my phone as designed. Ordered another one as soon as i got my phone back.

ZAGG Glass Elite Screen Protector for iPhone 16 Pro Max: A Clown Show Catastrophe
ZAGG, We Really Need to Talk.I’ve been a ZAGG loyalist for years. My iPad once flew off the kitchen counter mid-recipe (don’t ask), and the screen protector took the hit like a champ. I practically gave it a standing ovation. So naturally, when I picked up the iPhone 16 Pro Max, I didn’t hesitate—I went straight for ZAGG’s Glass Elite, expecting the same battle-hardened brilliance. What I got instead was a comedy of errors I didn’t audition for.Let’s begin with the “EZ Apply” tray. The name alone deserves some kind of award—for irony. This tray doesn’t align with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Not even a little. I checked the box twice to make sure I hadn’t accidentally ordered a screen protector for a different species of device. It’s as if ZAGG designed this tray while blindfolded, using a butter knife and guesswork. I’ve applied dozens of protectors over the years—without bubbles, mind you—but this one had me crouched over the counter like I was disarming a bomb. At one point, I genuinely considered calling for backup. After 30 minutes of muttering things I’d never say in church and trying to line up the glass with the camera cutout using only sheer willpower, I finally stuck it on. Or…sort of. The result was a slightly off-center protector that left the edges of my phone about as secure as a screen door on a submarine. The corners? Bare. Vulnerable. Begging for a pocketful of keys to end their brief, unprotected existence. The glass itself, to be fair, sounds great. 5x stronger than standard glass, ClearPrint tech to keep fingerprints away, even 30% recycled content to keep Mother Earth smiling. But it doesn’t matter how strong it is if it doesn’t fit. It’s like buying a steel-toed boot and finding out it’s open-toed. Reinforced edges? Sure. I just wish they were protecting my phone and not hovering a few millimeters shy of it.And then there’s the price. For $40–$50, I expected luxury. I expected seamless application. I expected my phone to feel like it was being hugged by a team of engineers who truly cared. What I got instead was a frustrating half hour, a lopsided install, and the sudden urge to write a strongly worded review.Look, I wanted to love this. I even carved out a peaceful Saturday morning just for the installation, like it was some sacred tech ritual. But by the time I was done, I felt like I’d aged a year and sacrificed part of my soul to the gods of misaligned glass.ZAGG, you’ve built a reputation on quality. This? This wasn’t it. The design feels rushed, the tray feels like an afterthought, and the end result feels like disappointment in glossy form. I know you can do better—because you have done better. So I’m holding out hope that this was a one-time fumble, and not the new game plan.Until then, I’ll be cradling my phone like it’s made of fine china and explaining to anyone who asks why my screen protector looks like it was applied during an earthquake.Sincerely,Your once-loyal, now deeply conflicted fan.

Some bubbles may creep in during installation!
I am generally very happy with Zagg products and have purchased them as screen protectors many times whenever I get new phones. I decided to buy this kit to DIY I wanted the privacy features.Despite my best efforts following the instructions and online video steps exactly I still ended up with several bubbles. I managed to work most of them out by pushing them to the edges. I felt dumb that once I removed the final lay (that exposes you to the actual screen you use) that some of those bubbles were part of the applicator! Sigh.. But I DID notice there were several bubbles that were "for real" bubbles. I spend a good 15 min's trying to push them out and manged to get most of them. I know one, which is along the bottom edge is going to be a problem long term and start to spread. But that's why I paid a little more (ok a lot more) for the Zagg product because when it is damaged I can get a replacement for $10. When that day comes I will likely go to the mall and have them do it, they always get it right! As far as privacy goes it depends on the brightness setting of your phone's screen. I am using an iPhone 14 Pro Max. At full brightness you get pretty good privacy, but those intent on creeping on you from an angle will see some of your screen, if you drop the brightness to about half, that changes things big time. At that point only someone really close within the FOV could see anything. I lowered the brightness a tad more and it improved even more. I would say for the average person brightness around the middle or a tad lower is where you want to be at.Of course you have to live with a darker screen, I personally like full brightness on my screen all the time but privacy had made me rethink this and I can live with a darker screen. The phone looks completely off when not in the viewing range. I did common tests such as your better half looking at your phone while in bed (they will see total black) someone from the side trying creep say at a coffee shop, total black. Of course the one place that should be obvious to everyone that is a "weak" spot is having someone directly behind you. In that scenario you just need to use good old common sense.Overall I'm happy with the privacy (even know looking to see if its charging the phone looks off!) but I am disappointed about the bubbles. Funny enough the privacy feature actually hides the bubbles when not in use hehe. I gave this 4 stars because the DIY kit doesn't work perfectly (I have steady hands and worth with electronics so I know how to ensure a good workspace, lighting and keep things free of debris. I'm sure it was my user error that led to the bubbles because others have reported no issues. I'm OCD about stuff like that as many of you are I hate bubbles, fingerprints on screens/monitors ect...So 4 stars due to the DIY system not being perfect in preventing bubbles and the cost. I would have given this less stars if it didn't have Zagg's awesome warranty program. So for that I paid more. Privacy-wise awesome. No complaints as long as you are aware of your surroundings like a good privacy minded person should be. YMMV.
